Emma (@emmaccrosby) can be seen presenting our 6.30pm news programme.
Emma joined 5 News in February 2011. It’s where she started her career – her first job was answering the phones in the 5 newsroom.
Emma was one of the main hosts of GMTV. She’s used to early mornings – before that she regularly presented Sunrise on Sky News.
Emma was on-air when terrorists attacked Glasgow Airport – her anchoring of the event helped the channel win a BAFTA Award. She’s also presented on the BBC and business channel CNBC.
Her most memorable moment of live TV is broadcasting from inside a lion’s den at breakfast time – with some hungry lionesses just feet away!

I dont know who or what came up with this , but I call this sadly the worst news program that I have now come across. Bad channel relaunch, Ugly new identity, Downgraded trashy news program just like their rival counterparts ITV. Emma Crosby is great, but Channel 5 News is already in the incinerator to me Between the two networks, one is NOW known for trashy regional, national/international news programs after it killed 14 regional franchises including three London regional franchise names in October 2002,stripping them of their original names, status and identities for a useless, pathetic and ugly national network identity. The other called themselves "five" instead of remaining to the original name "Channel5" with the iconic rainbow striped bar that we all well and truly loved. If they named Channel 5, Network 5, What difference will it make? Channel 5 should try another relaunch and make the logo, less fat and more like the 1997 one. They don't have to bring back the rainbow bar, but amend the logo slightly at least. Channel Four beats Channel5 and ITV hard.

Brilliant interview Emma with that twit talking about Thatcher and The Witch is Dead song entering the charts. He clearly didn't have a clue about any of Thatchers policies and you brilliantly revealed that fact. Good interviewing.

I would like to air my views as to MR GEORGE OSBOURNE deciding to bring MICK PHILLPOTS into the Welfare cuts debate, which I find dispicable act to do from MR Osborne, given that the majority of Mom's & Dad's do there best to look after there children and bring them up, MICK PHILLPOTS is an Animal who deserves to be hanged. MR Osborne is a desperate man who's austerity messures is harming the economy, the poor and benefiting the RICH as per- normal. We have the scum of the decade IAN DUNCAN SMITH who has introduced the BEDROOM TAX oh sorry! my mistake! it isn't tax, but would be if LABOUR had introduced it. He couldn't careless or give a dam about the disabled who are vulnerable not knowing who they will have to share a bedroom with, they might get a thief, thug or criminal and so might the fit ordinary people. Is MR OSBORNE, MR CAMERON, MR IAN DUNCAN SMITH going to share their spare bedrooms they have in their MANSIONS.

I would like to air my views about the interview Emma did with the Employment Minister Mark Hoban 12/2/13 about the lady who took the Government to court over being expected to work for free at poundland and won. First of all I would like to say what an arrogant man he is, who obviously has no idea about how difficult it is for people to find work (including myself) and there is know guarantee of job at the end of these work schemes. I have been out of work since October 2010, I left my last job after being assaulted at work,I have applied for approaching 300 jobs, I have only had three interviews, the majority of companies dont bother to reply, some tell me they do not know when they will be taking staff on and some say they have no vacancies, I have kept a record of the positions applied for, the dates and the names of companies applied too, furthermore I have not had any success in temporary work. This is my second long stint in the skip, in the past I have had excuses for not being successful in obtaining a position such as, to much experience, to far to travel and didn't pass the sift through, I've even had four interviews at one company and still did not get offered a position. Due to my medical problems, I need extra help in finding a job, not next year, not in five years, but like tomorrow, I'M now living off my savings. There has been an article in the Daily Mail today from Ian Duncan Smith about the lady who took the Government to court over working for nothing, which he does not agree and he says that he is not going to back date any of the benefits.

Channel Four News - 1000% Channel Five News -1% ITN producing this program again. This was the worst relaunch I have ever watched in my life. Channel 5 should just rename itself as Five. The logo is awful. it is nowhere near the original 1997 to September 2003 look. It had a five colour bar before. The news studio is a virtual reality, rip off from the 1997 BBC look.and some of the stories that this program does is trash like one comment said "If you want to watch celebrities do you know what and dolphins jumping through fire and whatever. This program fits that rating. The Kirsty Young & Charlie Stayt era picked up viewers since day 1 of C5. Right now it is so wrong. I dont know what to say anymore. When presenting a story that is not on a positive note. Emma turn down the smile slightly. Please because the viewers assume you are doing it on purpose.

I love Emma. I enjoy her cheeky winks and she's very beautiful. I watch her every day and I've not seen her smile throughout sad reports and she does have a lower toned voice on sad reports.

Her smiling while reading bad news is really inappropriate and annoying. I have only watched her reading the news twice, and that was two times too many. I wonder if she has had botox and her smile is fixed so she can't help it.

I have also changed my evening viewing habits for news to Channel 5. Emma makes my day. Yes I listen to the news, I don't really see her laughing or smiling when giving bad news, but in my mind she is a breath of fresh air, very easy on the eye and makes Bad news more bearable.

Channel 5 News is now my default early evening news programme for one reason - Emma Crosby! She is in my opinion one of the very best female TV presenters at the moment! Beautiful, eloquent, extremely professional, and like a ray of sunshine every day! And amazing legs!!!

I for one think she is doing a great job,& shouldn't have to change the way she does her job because of a few miserable people that have nothing better to do than complain about a beautiful woman with a heart warming smile, which I think takes the edge off all the bad news we have to endure. @steven F....Laugh?...realy?...I dont think i've ever heard her laugh when reading bad news,so don't exagerate. @chris O she probably puts more thought into one news item than you put to your entire life for one whole year. Emma I think you are doing a great job with the news & can we have an extra big smile for those of us that appreceate it.

It seems that Emma Crosby has either not been told or is refusing to heed viewers comments about the fact that she is unable tlo stop smiling when giving bad news to the viewers. Is she getting a kick out of delivering bad news. Very very unprofessional

I saw Emma Crosby at 5pm this evening and was disgusted to see her trying hard not to smile when she was giving tragic, sad and/or bad news. She shoul;d reflect the seriousness of the news she is reading not smiling about it

I agree with last two comments. Emma Crosby needs to change her expression and tone of voice when reporting sad news. Her fixed smile looks quite inappropriate on these occasions and it is very unprofessional and uncomfortable to watch.

I was'nt familiar with who Emma Crosby was when she first joined 5 news she is fairly good though but I do miss watching Helen Fospero whose the best newsreader that 5 news has ever had in my eyes anyhow.
