Matt Barbet

Matt Barbet can be seen presenting 5 News Tonight every weekday at 6.30pm on Channel 5.

Matt re-joined 5 News in the Spring of 2014 to present Five News Tonight at 6.30pm.

For the previous couple of years, he presented Daybreak on ITV early in the mornings, and prior to that, he had been at Five News anchoring the programme at 5 o' clock. He's also worked for BBC News, Radio 1, ITV News and Sky News.

Matt is very experienced in and out of the studio - he's been embedded with British troops in Afghanistan, seen famine in Ethiopia and the devastation of an earthquake in Haiti. He also anchored Five's coverage of the Royal Wedding of William & Kate from Buckingham Palace, been on the Oscars red carpet and covered President Obama's historic election to the White House from Washington DC.

Matt is married to Katie, and they live in London with their two young daughters.
