Season 1 - Episode 8: Buried Secrets

Episode 8: Buried Secrets

Sorry, this episode is no longer available to watch on Demand 5.

Find out why

The high-profile, hit-and-run death of a Philadelphia homicide detective hits close to home with Detective Samantha 'Sam' Baker. As the team digs deeper to avenge the death of one of their own, Megan realises the importance of the mother-daughter bond, missing her close relationship with Lacey. She must also go to her own mother, Judge Joan Hunt, with whom things are strained, to ask for her help in the investigation.

Hmm... I wondered why the description of episode 3 didn't match the program a few weeks ago. It looks like we were accidentally shown this episode (8) instead of episode 3. Please could you reinstate episode 3 so those of us who missed it can catch up?

Thanks for your comments. Although this is the eighth episode of Body of Proof, a handful of viewers may already have seen it on Demand 5 after a technical error meant that during a short window it was previously available on the Episode 3 page. This issue was picked up at the time and the correct video was published; unfortunately, due to catch-up rights on this series, we’re unable to make Episode 3 available to watch again at this time. Apologies for any inconvenience.

D5- sorry but you are the WORST iPLayer available, your programmes are pausing every couple of minutes for 15-30 seconds at a time,(Its Not Buffering) this has been going on now for at least three weeks! Funny how the commercials work fine but the programmes don't, NCIS, CSI NY, BOProof, L&O

I can confirm that Episode 8, "Buried Secrets," (Production Code #103) is the one that is now available. Episode 3, "Helping Hand" (#107), was finally aired weeks ago--I watch on Saturdays, 4 days after broadcast--although characteristically late. To be fair to Demand 5, for whom I usually have criticism, the streaming company, to whom C5 outsources the catchup service, may be following the Production Code order, i.e. the order in which the episodes were written and shot (see Wikipaedia entry: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Body_of_Proof_episodes ), rather than the episode labels. The Production Code sequencing may also explain continuity issues in the script's character backstories, e.g. why would Megan have to explain to Peter that her relationship with her mother (played by the wonderful Joanna Cassidy) is complicated; Peter already met her with her mother in Episode 6, "Society Hill" (#105). Also, there was an error others picked up in last week's Episode 7, "All in the Family" (#104), in which Megan's daughter seemed not to have met Peter, when she already had in Episode 4, "Talking Heads" (#106).

@jimmy, if ITV and 4oD (equally resource intensive) are working, you may have ad or streaming blocking engaged on one or more sources. Note that D5 uses a 3rd party. I suggest checking your browser and Flash settings.

@Happy, I'm glad your setup is working fine, but not everyone can simply upgrade to the latest and greatest Internet connections. Sometimes, they are actually unavailable or merely unaffordable. All (catchup) broadcasters should bear that in mind if they wish to reach the widest possible audience, i.e. earn the most in advertising revenue.

Further to the production order problem, in Italy, they chose to air them in production order, rather than the order the original US broadcaster, ABC, and Channel 5 have done. See http://it.wikipedia.org/wiki/Episodi_di_Body_of_Proof_(prima_stagione) . Unfortunately, because ABC has lifted 4 episodes from the first series (usually a mid-season order is for 13 episodes) and scattered them among the second series, we can expect more continuity mayhem. Unless, of course, Channel 5/Demand 5 follow the Italians' lead and air them in production order, starting with the outstanding 4 from series one (#109, 111, 112, and 113)...please.

Why do I have so much trouble watching channel 5 on demand. I can happily watch all the other TV channels on line services but 5's always cause me problems with the shows freezing and very often not playing at all. The funny thing is the adverts generally play fine so I end up watching them over and over without getting to see much of the actual shows
