Unofficial activity
We’re grateful to fans that have created blogs, websites, Facebook pages and created a buzz on Twitter. But some fans have been misled by social media activity and wrongly believe that it all authorised by Channel 5 and the Big Brother producers.
If you’re maintaining a social media fan presence for Big Brother here are our guidelines:
- Make it clear you’re a fan site and that you’re unofficial
- Don’t imply that you’re connected with the Big Brother production or Channel 5
We’re working closely with Facebook. If you are a fan of the show, you should create a Group (not a Page) to show your support.
You can create a group by clicking "Create Group" in the left hand column of your home page.
But you must ensure:
- Your Facebook Group title clearly states you’re a fan group
- Your posts do not imply that you are involved with the Big Brother production or Channel 5
Facebook’s definitions of a Group and a Page are:

Please Channel 5, give us a live feed? It's what BB is all about and has been from the start, and almost all the fans want...or even need it! Facebook and Twitter just aren't the same at all. All the fans would be grateful if you'd at least answer our queries on the matter, as nobody knows what to think and it's causing a lot of arguing in forums. We are all SO impressed with the house so far and many other plans we've read about, so other than possibly not having a live feed, it's all looking great. Many thanks for listening.

Why no answers on live feed?.There are lots of people out there who have no computers or access to facebook or twitter.The whole concept of big brother was to watch 24/7,not 45 minutes of edited news.

The worry of not getting live feed is taking away from the excitement of BB starting. Facebook and Twitter can not replace all the drama of watching it live. The idea of BB is we watch and decide, the interesting part is the opinions depending on how you connect with individuals, that can only be done by tuning in as randomly as the viewer wants, not edited highlights, when we all view a tiny part of the 24hrs

There has to be some form of live feed even if its only a pay per view internet feed the fans should have a choice Currently it looks like half the fans will be lost if there is no live feed at all It will be the main series next month which will suffer most twitter and facebook cannot replace all of the drama and hype the live feed creates I have a feeling there will be many angry fans when its revealed Thursday that there is no live feed at all

There needs to be a live feed. We do not want to be manipulated by the producers on who our favorites should be. We need the live feed to truly judge the housemates, someone could look like the nastiest villian ever through the power of editing, when in reality, they are just a person who likes to speak their mind. Has there been any Official Comment/Response as yet from Channel 5 with regard the huge question over Live Feed/Streaming of the show? I find myself wondering whether Channel 5 are reading any of the comments posted within their own Official Website. Which leads me to also wonder whether efforts made in posting comments are purely for among viewers/fans of the show and as such have no other value? Genuine questions and enquiries do I would have thought, at the very least, deserve a broad outline response. Especially if an enquiry is being repeatedly made by so many. I do hope it's not an early taste of how as viewers we are going to be valued. I dare say if that turns out to be the case, paying by way of voting for extremely little by way of viewing experience, I for one will find myself watching but simply not voting! Surely this has not crossed just my mind? Maybe I am wrong in my thoughts but without any answers it's hard to think otherwise!!

I agree we simply can't follow big brother without some live feed it was barely tolerable when we only got night time feeds and a couple of hours in the daytime in recent years.... The whole point of watching BB is to have live 24 hour access otherwise people will not devote 1 hour a night to this show during primetime viewing, there are simply lots more stations showing other programmes of interest. Surely you can see that we can also get updates online as an added bonus if we wish to do this....how do you expect viewers to be interested in the normal BB never mind the celebrity one!

I won't support it unless there's a live feed - half the debate comes about how producers present housemates in the highlights show as opposed to how they are on the live feed. Too much opportunity to manipulate consensus when there is no live feed. And really, have you lost track of which decade we're in? I'll set up a Facebook page or Twitter account on whatever I please... and if people wrongly think I am associated with the show, it's up to you, not me to put them right. Good luck trying to get them to delete it.

No live feed ruined BB for Channel 4. Give the viewers what they want and you'll get the ratings that you want and the advertising revenue that goes with it. One hour in the late evening is just a pitiful joke. On the positive side, I'm so pleased Brian is fronting it and the set design looks amazing. With live feed it could have been a great show again. it not fair that people in ireland can't watch this as we do not have this channel! So please can you post the episode on the internet so you will make everybody happy........... there is alot of jedward fans all around the world so why don't you just do it! Why won't you reply to the fans who are questioning the lack of a live feed? The official page on Facebook hasn't had a post from you in nearly two hours and the tweets aren't happening either. Where is the information regarding phone apps? You really need to get this sorted before the start of the programme. If you are relying on social media to give us the information we need then someone has to actually input the news as it is happening.

I have watched bigbrother from the very first show on channel 4 it was new exciting and it gave us the viewer the chance to see everything, It made deciding who stays and who goes, worth voting for, 10 years plus we watched and voted slowly greed took over and channel 4 reduced the live feed due to expenses and slowly we lost interest, Channel 5 launched new BB But with one big mistake no live feed, What a shame this type of program is set up for viewing audiences to stop up late watch all hours and scrutinise the personalities of each individual person living in the house, Now with no live feed, No effort for late showings, and a editied 1 hour slot of 24 hours is being shown of what channel 5 decide to show each evening, will over time close this program down as did Channel 4 version of it, Very disappointed this will not last, Watched opening night but loosing interest already fast. Well I have to say this Social Networking idea of knowing what's happening in the house leaves little to be desired… I think I’ll now pass on Big Brother this year! I prefer to see what’s happening and make my own mind up on events and have now been proven right in my preference. Before my good bye to Big Brother viewing though I would like to say “WELL DONE and GOOD LUCK for the rest of the show to Brian Dowling. He’s taken to the role and doing the job excellently, especially in view of the shoes he had to fill. A shame his efforts for us are let down by Channel 5’s and @bbuk efforts towards us.

since you have opted to ignore your potential viewers and give us a live feed why have you also been busy deleting posts from your chosen "social" media and blocking fans because they are almost all telling you they want a live feed, that's not very social is it, more like attempting to cover up bb fans true feeling, in fact just like you are covering up what's really going on in the house by not having a live feed. instead of deleting the posts why not embrace them and admit you made a huge mistake then fix it.

I thought that channel 5 would do a good job and reviving Big Brother. but this is not so. We need at least a couple of hours of live viewing in the afternoon or after the main show. Why spend all that money and employ so many people just for one hours highlights? We have always loved Big Brother but, so far, have been very disappointed. The bit on the side is complete rubbish - very childish and amateurish. The holy moly bearded guy is sleazy and creepy. Why not utilize 5* more for live feed? So far, RIP Big Brother - what a shame.

Come on guys you can hear what the viewers want and after all it's the viewers that matter, it's not good to annoy them, we have all been loyal and come across to channel 5 without prejudice if they want it and will pay for it then it's probably wise to do it. If you want to save it and keep your viewers for next year it's probably a good idea to do live feed. Come on 5 show us you can do it!

C5 will not answer the questions regarding live feed failure as they do not have an answer that will placate the fans,they know they have messed this show up bigtime and are now hiding under their rocks asking each other"why did we not listen to the fans" If you live in an area that you still cannot get c5 then consider yaselves lucky as they care not a jot what their viewers think. Used to watch c5 but this debarkle will keep me away from the channel for good. Pat yaselves on the bak c5 job well done.
