Ching-He Huang
An ambassador for Chinese cooking in Britain.
Ching-He Huang is a chef, a television personality and an entrepreneur - but primarily she is an ambassador for Chinese cooking in Britain. Born in Taiwan to Chinese parents, her major food influences stem from the traditional cooking styles of her farming community grandparents who lived out in southern Taiwan.
After moving to London in her early teens, Ching was taught the basic philosophy behind Chinese cuisine - the emphasis on balancing yin and yang through ‘hot’ and ‘cold’ ingredients - but was then was left to improvise by herself. As a self-taught cook, this experience was to be the inspiration behind her launching her own food company.
Ching has fronted programmes on the UK Food Channel and the BBC, as well as making guest appearances on shows including Five's Cooking the Books. In autumn 2006, Ching's first cookbook, China Modern, was published, offering a 21st century twist to the cuisine. She followed this up with Chinese Food Made Easy (2008) and Ching's Chinese Food In Minutes (2009).

Good cooking series and the recipes are quick, easy & delicious - if you're a halfway decent cook. Obviously the previous poster doesn't know how to boil an egg..hahaha!

What a beautiful ambassador. You are charming and funny. And guess what, I use very similar materials when I cook. It seems we have common taste about food. Good luck Ms Huang!

I'm a great chef and now ive become more powerful than ever before from these recipes =)) Seriously though, great chef, great recipes only criticism would be that a list of ingredients would be helpful on screen but thats only a minor gripe. Great ambassador for chinese cooking, shame that the above poster "Nat" hasnt grasped that the show shows you how to do it but the actual cooking and creating a dish to taste is down to yourself. You cant base chinese cooking upon one dish, go with the flow and bend like the reeds in the wind.. JayZ

Im a fan of Chinese food therefore enjoy your series, the fact most of your recipes are quite simple and easy to produce, but I agree with JayZ's comment that it would be nice to post the ingredients as done in other programs. You need to post more of your recipes. Pay no heed to Nat's comment its obvious cooking is not his forte. Keep up the good work.

Where can I find yellow bean paste? My daughter has searched in Asian supermarkets without success. Suggest a brand name please. Lots of yellow bean sauces but they all seem to be of the "cookin sauce" type.

Jayeff - yellow bean paste is often found in Chinese supermarkets, sorry you've had little luck. Lee Kum Kee is a good brand - they do both the cook-in sauces and the separate paste. Chinatown based supermarkets or large stores like Wing Yip if you're near one are probably the best for this and similar ingredients. I am Chinese and familiar with the cuisine, and still learn from Ching's recipes. Lots of comforting favourites and probably the most simple methods of cooking them too.

I started watching the cooking channel show last Friday nite. Ms Huang was cooking up some amazing easy chinese dishes. I was hooked, I have been wanting to make chinese food at home for my husband and sons that takes only minutes to prepare, but didn't know where to start. Now I know where I can turn to Ms Ching I haven't cooked up any dishes yet I just ordered my first Carbon Steel Wok, I am so excited can't wait too start. Thank you, Ms Ching.
