I agree with Trevor Barnham. If you were investigating a builder who had left the roof exposed like that you would have quite rightly ripped him to pieces,.It was incompetence at the highest level and completely inexcusable. Also what sort of "expert"could not foresee that the front box bedroom would be lost in order to accommodate the stairs?Whether this was really necessary is debatable, however this should definately have been put to the client beforehand. In addition there was no handrail to the outside of the bottom set of stairwinders ,contravening building regs .On a final note, in order to placate the householders about their lost box bedroom, you implied that that space could be utilised as an office area or similar. This would make it a habitable room and therefore subject to the strict fire regulations imposed when a second floor is created i.e. it must be separated by means of a half hour fire partition and fire door.Yes of course the man you featured was a cowboy but before you get all high and mighty, I suggest you look a little closer to home, I have had a succesful loft conversion business fo over 25 years and am less than impressed by your team.

Hmm - I'm no expert but I didn't think the new roof looked brilliant - if I was paying for it I would not have been happy that's for sure

It appeared the woman at Discount Pram Centre was pressurised into agreeing to supply goods. I wonder what % of their profit margin was lost?

Difficult to identify Cowboys - leaving house open to elements / water damage during rebuild without even a tarpaulin let alone a temporary roof is the height of stupidity!
