Miami born and bred to the high society of South Beach, the attitudes of her spoiled peers created in Tara the desire to give a voice to the dead and an interest in how she might be able to do so. While other kids were playing doctor, she was learning how to be one: winning science competitions, obsessively watching surgery shows and taking college-level courses while still in high school.

With a degree from a prestigious East Coast University, Tara chose to complete her medical training in England. Weeks after graduation, she became Miami-Dade';s newest and youngest medical examiner.

However, Tara's inability to kick an addiction to prescription medication became her downfall, culminating in her arrest at the end of the show's seventh season.
