Linda Gray’s award-winning portrayal of Sue Ellen Ewing in the original series brought her international fame and critical acclaim, earning her an Emmy® nomination for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series, two Golden Globe Award nominations for Best Performance by an Actress in a TV Series – Drama and numerous international awards, including Germany’s Bambi Award and Italy’s Il Gato for Best Actress on Television. Linda also stepped behind the camera to make her directorial debut on Dallas.
In addition to Dallas, both the original series and the new incarnation, Linda has made numerous television appearances and has had recurring and guest-starring roles on series including 90210, Melrose Place and Models Inc. She has starred in many telefilms, becoming one of the most recognised faces to television audiences. Linda will next be seen on the big screen in the upcoming feature Hidden Moon, and recently appeared in the independent movie The Flight of the Swan and the telefilm A Very Mary Christmas.
In addition to her work in film and television, Linda has appeared on the UK stage in the original production of Terms of Endearment, based on the screenplay of the Academy Award®–winning motion picture. She also starred in the West End production of The Graduate, playing to sold-out audiences, and replaced Kathleen Turner in the Broadway run for a limited engagement.
Linda made her directing debut in the theatre with Murder in the First; other acting stage work includes The Vagina Monologues, Agnes of God, Love Letters and Bette Davis Speaks, which she also co-produced.
Linda is also a former United Nations Ambassador and has been voted Woman of the Year by the Hollywood Radio & Television Society.
