Because it's a tv programme. Some things are usually exaggerated due to it being on tv.

I wish they didn't always add in the screeching tyres and beeping horn effects when they're driving, it ruins the suspension of disbelief for me....

This may seem a bit sad but I've just noticed that the Ford Focus used by Lyn Howard is the same one as used by Lee in Episode 2

Hire car David.....some insurance companies wont allow cameras to be placed in the car. At the time of filming (6 months ago) I was working for a broadcast company....my insurance company wanted to cancel my policy with immediate effect when i asked for their permission to have cameras in my car. Apparantly they don't insure "Tv celeberities". The fact i worked for a broadcast company and wanted cameras in my car made me a TV celebrity in their eyes ;-)
