Eddie Stobart: Trucks & Trailers

Sorry, this episode is no longer available to watch on Demand 5.

Find out why

Biomass driver Tim Fox heads to a recycling plant to collect a load of recycled sawdust destined for a cattle farm. But bad drivers, traffic jams, vague directions and tight squeezes soon tax his temper.

Meanwhile the Stobart rail crew get out their most impressive machine to repair a train track overnight. With the clock ticking, their best laid plans are suddenly derailed.

lets hope that planner sticks to his word! in my experience, many planners aren't interested in the problems the drivers face. All that matters to them is getting a drivers name and truck registration next to a job and thats it for them - job done!!

I'll second that Jay ! Already knowing Paul as one of my old day planners at Appleton, he is already high up as a in my ratings as a decent, considerate, good planner. Unlike some of them who can be rude, inconsiderate, & talk down to you. In my view every single planner must have at least 2 years class 1 experience before becoming a planner. William Stobart said the same about his own son Ed.

Well done to Paul for getting out the office and being out on the road driving a truck, you've probably earned some respect from drivers at your work location for giving it a go.I've always said no one should be given the job as transport planner unless you have had previous experience of being out on the road.It ticks me off as they have very little understanding of the job,and i will sometimes do it my own way.

Well done for Paul taking the time to get out the office and on the road driving a truck to see how it is,you've probably earned some respect from drivers at your work place for giving it a go.I've always said no one should be given the job of transport planner unless you have had experience of being out on the road in a truck,it ticks me right off as they have really little understanding of the job.
