sam i don't even know where to start. we can drive for 4 1/2 hours at which point we have to have a minimum 45 min break. we are only allowed to drive 9 hours per day. that can be extended by 1 hour (to 10) twice a week. we can work 13 hours a day extended 3 times to 15 hours. we have to have a minimum of 9 hours off. it goes on and on and can get reaslly complicated but i hope this helps.

@ it's not rocket science actually The UK Legal Law is that a HGV Lorry Driver can only legally drive for 4 hours then they have to take a 30minute-1 hour break but in their days work they can only drive for 13hours in total with breaks , once they hit the 13hour mark they have to sleep between 6-8 hours in total

This show is the most mind numbing boring load of old tosh ever put on TV. I cannot fathom why you want to make a 45 minute programme with this sort of content. It is purile rubbish, who in their right mind gives a damn if a truck is running out of gas when the truck has a diesel back up tank.It is simply the worst programme that I have ever had the missfortune to watch.

This show just about what other drivers think of Stobart drivers,a bunch of boss loving idiots who dont even know the true tacho laws,i.e see the above comment by 'it's not rocket science'.If Stobarts are such good employers why the hell dont they plan there routes for the trampers to be able to stay at secure truckstops where you can get a decent meal and a shower after a hard day,oh I know its because Stobarts WONT make money out of it,why dont the Stobart drivers get a backbone and refuse to sleep in lay-byes overnite.....

if he cannot get that truck though the big hole in london he should not be driving a hgv, that mark is a waste of space off the road & on the road.

love the show but channel 5 really need to take note of the tachograph law, 13 hour drive! nope 13 hour duty time plus 11 hour rest = 24 hours or 15 hours duty time 9 hours reduced rest = 24 hours
