what a courageous, strong, determined woman. It would be so good if a program like DIY SOS could go to her home and make it more open plan and adapt it for her. I think she deserves it more than most. You are amazing.

What a terrible situation to face - losing a leg. Let's have more documentaries like this, which prove the strength within people when faced with incredible odds. I can't praise people high enough, when their courage shows to this extent, they make a sacrifice, and then again face the future anew. Well Done to All, but particularly The Brave.

i completely admire Mandy's courage and positivity, she's such a lovely down to earth lady. cannot believe how inspiring she is, (makes me feel a complete wimp having to use my wheelchair now as one of my legs are slightly bigger than the other,) but WOW mandy, your spirit for life is amazing. i so hope you find some relief in the near future. also, Your smile is lovely as is your personality.

I think lozza4life is as shallow as Mandy is strong. I wish I had the tenacity that she has,she`s made me look at my own disability again and shown me that my problems are nothing and that I should get on with life and not feel sorry for myself even though I have had to give up the only job I loved. Like the person above, I have never been compelled to write a comment about a TV programme until now. I have never felt so humbled in my life until I saw Mandy's programme. She is more than inspirational and has every right to feel an 'if only...' kind of attitude. The fact that she takes everything in her stride with such positivity has completely overwhelmed me. Never does she complain about her situation, or feel a 'victim' in any way. I applaud her strength of character and determination, but would also like to praise and commend her very loyal friend too who has not really been mentioned in the comments. I have watched many programmes that have amazed and humbled me but never in my life have I felt so touched by the determination and cheerfulness of that wonderful young lady. When there are so many wasters taking advantage of 'the system' she struggles on - without making a fuss and with a strength of character that just floored me. I have just watched your story Mandy on the internet because I missed it on tv. Thank you for allowing us, the britsh public into your world and your life. I am in awe of your great spirit and determination, you are a remakable woman with a great heart. I was involved in a car accident last April and slowly became housebound and lost the ability to walk as my nerve was severely trapped. I have since had an operation on my spine and am learning to walk again. I have really bad days when I am in so much pain (I also have nerve damge from being left too long) and I can barely walk to the end of the street. You on the other hand are such a positive person and youve made me realise that I need to show that same courage and positivity myself rather than getting frustrated. I am in no way in the same position as you but I get very down and depressed because I can't live my life how I want to. I am ashamed of myself really and your fighting spirit and positive nature has made me take a good look at what I do have rather than what I don't. You are an inspiration to us all. All the best for the future. You will have a good life because life is what you make it and I believe you'll make sure you fill as much as possible into it. lots of love Paula from Bolton, Lancashire x
