Find out why

This week, Sian and her team visit Birmingham, where a pair of newlyweds are faced with a half built horror thanks to teacher Claire’s DIY efforts. Claire has taken down walls and left the house a battle zone. With no kitchen and no bathroom, the couple cannot move in and are forced to pay two mortgages. They are slipping further into debt and in their first year of marriage have struggled to spend any quality time together because Claire is always working on the house. Her husband Matt is desperate for his wife to put down the hammer before anymore damage is done to their marital home or their relationship, not least because an estate agent has valued the property at less than the price the couple paid for it.

Claire and Matt hand their keys over to Sian for 11 days, but as soon as she starts the build she discovers that the house is in fact a danger zone. Work grinds to a halt in order to make the site safe.

The crucial remedial work only adds more pressure to the schedule and the budget. Will Sian be able to succeed in giving Claire and Matt a house they can move into in time?

Just watched this for the first time just confirms everything we know 11 days to paint a wall and fit a bathroom in a empty shell builders rule and what were the true costs

BBC 1 DIY SOS far better than this rubbish, at least that program has a real reason behind each project! Maybe I should have a go at smashing my house to smithereens and get someone else to clean up after me and pay for it! as if that will happen! I love getting ideas and knowledge from DIY programs like this but I have never watched such rubbish as this so wont be tuning in again.

Mrs D - you are absolutely right . It is utter drivel and if these cowboys are given another series to wreck more homes I will have plenty more to say about it.

Take a more light hearted approach and you might enjoy it! Sian's designs are not to my taste either but I can still enjoy the fun and games, makes me feel better about my house too : )

The builders seem to know their stuff, but this Cyan woman is appalling - she has a terrible design eye, and the whole show just seems ridiculous. I agree with some of the other people on here, it is just not believable at all - the budget seems silly too. Unlike DIY SOS or even Sarah Benneys offerings, this seems very far fetched. The annoying narration is like something from Big Brother! I wont be watching this rubbish again!

Why is the female listed as SIAN and the stupid narrator calls her something else. The programme is unbelievable enough as it is.

Does she ever do anything.. Does she have a trade!!! I think not..I could NOT think of anything worse than someone who never gets there hand dirty & BARKING Orders & decisions...What a load of bollocks..I agree with Mrs D above. Are they Muppets..Being a trades person myself, I think they make people more aware of the jobs as a whole & how much each trade cost,so before people jump straight in & purchase a house thinking a splash of paint etc & the house is done.. They could add all aspects of the projects together & really now if they can afford it!!!! Bring back sarah beany...Plus she's better looking

Difficult to concentrate when the voiceover calls the builder 'Cyan'. the name Sian is normally pronounced 'Sharn'. Am I the only one who has noticed this?

Sorry but I find this programme very hard to believe, each week the same format and same dilemas with the budget being overspent and Sian in tears with each project !!!! again The house owners destroying all the rooms in their homes so badly they can't live in the house, the owners seem to be laughlingly proud of what they have done to their homes. Are the viewers expected to believe that these proffessional people can be so silly to wreck their own homes without having any skills to repair and improve them, leaving them dangerous for their children to be around. I am sure there are many worthy people who could benefit from good proffessional help. I will not be watching any more of this drivel.
