Jay Laga'aia to exit Home and Away

After two stints as Summer Bay good guy Elijah Johnson, Jay Laga'aia is set to say farewell to his Home and Away alter ego.

Jay Laga'aia to exit Home and Away

He made his Summer Bay debut in 2010, going on to fall for local singleton Leah, but 18 months down the line the time has come to bid a fond farewell to the ever dependable Elijah Johnson, played by Jay Laga'aia.

Jay enjoyed two stints as the Home and Away good guy, wrapping up his first appearance in the summer of 2010 before returning to the role the following March.

Although details of Elijah's exit storyline have been kept under wraps, Australian broadcaster Channel 7 confirmed that the character's storyline had 'reached a natural conclusion', with his final scenes due to air in Australia in April.

That's not right! We need more of an ethnic mix in H&A! Jay should stay, the producers always say 'the character reached a natural conclusion' that's crap! How comes the ethnic characters never stay for years and years!! Jay's a good character - hunky too - he shouldn't be going anywhere. Good luck for the future Jay!

Yeah, he should have got with Leah and stayed. There's a million storylines they could have used for him - PRODUCERS if you're stuck on storylines then hey, let me know and I'll let you know how to keep jay/elijah on H&A!!

It's the worst news, because Elijah's the best thing that happened to H&A in years. He and Miles are the most natural actors and interesting characters with real depth - and yes, endless storyline potential. Without them, H&A will become a pale shadow of its former self. Boo Hoo.

Valerie Yet again another Black Actor is out of work because of the failure of the writers/producers to take on board and reflect the diversity of our community.

elijah's character bores me. & to be frank, there isn't much they can do with pastor/vicar/priest/rev as a permanent feature in a secular soap. They've already got Colleen providing the moral compass :) However if they are really stretched for storyline they could ask help from Hillsong hehe. I HOPE LEAH HOOKS UP WITH BRAX, tired of her pollyana act.

to go straight to the race card is rubbish, hes been hired twice and noone knows the details behind the scenes he mite not be v popular, mite not be v good on set yeah natural conclusion is a rubbish reason but we dont know the full story and to reach for the race card straight away is silly

I wanted Elijah to stay and be with Leah again. Don't let him go.
