Although he didn't get Arlo, Dickie Bennett's ambush did kill Helen. Yet, while Dickie escaped with the cash from the Black Pike deal, Helen got off a shot that wounded his sidekick, Jed Berwind. Warning his dad not to go seeking revenge, Raylan sets his badge aside before questioning Mags about her fugitive son's whereabouts. But when Boyd and Ava drop by to offer their condolences, Arlo makes it clear that Dickie is a dead man.
Meanwhile, as Raylan presses Mags to lead him to her son, Dickie is busy treating Jed's gunshot wounds as they concoct a cover story for his injuries. At the house of the late Coover Bennett, Raylan finds his dad drunk and waiting for Dickie. Forcing Arlo to turn over Ellen May, a prostitute Dickie may have visited following Helen's murder, Raylan then has his dad jailed to keep him out of trouble while he looks for the killer.
While Ellen May suggests that Raylan question Jed, Mags and Doyle track Dickie to his ramshackle cabin hideout. Told that Boyd and Arlo are muscling Dickie out of the marijuana business, Mags then sends Doyle to see Jed, too. But before Doyle can kill him and then blame him for Helen's death, Raylan arrives in time to stop another murder. And after offering Jed a deal that could spare him life in prison, Raylan learns that Helen's death was the result of Arlo's joining forces with Boyd.
Following a confrontation during which Boyd's plan to get Dickie out of the way becomes clear, Raylan springs his dad from jail and, after accusing him of having Helen's blood on his hands, sends him to the Bennett Country Store. As Arlo is with Mags, Doyle takes Raylan to his brother's hideout. But turning the tables on both Bennett brothers, Raylan handcuffs Doyle and, after threatening to kill Dickie, has him arrested instead.
Finally, Raylan tells Winona that his offer to go away together still stands, but his plans are upset when, after cutting a deal for Jed to recant his confession, Mags joins Dickie in the fight for Harlan.

Justified and Sons of Anarchy are the two best shows on TV right now.

This is so good it deserves a far greater audience...Oliphant is a flawed hero, Crowder an inexplicable mixture of evil and wierd morality, the women are screwed-up sirens, the workplace (whether hicks or marshalls) a blend of affection, mistrust and viciousness, all utterly like life....Elmore Leonard's presence is totally felt....put it on Channel 5!

Still not playing for me as I have posted here before as have many others. You just lost a viewer channel 5 because this is too good to watch with the thought that it might stop at any second, as it just has for me. Waiting for the box set. Tell your advertisers.@Chris: totally in agreement with your comments; why not show this on the main channel so we can all see it instead of endless re-runs of CSI whatevs.

This isn't working. I've watched all the previous episodes with the occasional freeze, but now it doesn't work. All the other "catch-up" players work fine - iPlayer, 4OD etc. Like the previous poster, I'll wait for the box set.

Its a fair cop but society's to blame
Dear Moderator, the programme content is now working - thank you. However, I see you've removed muy last comment recommending....well you know what it said. By removing it of course you reinforce the impression that the way to get things done is to potentially hit you where it hurts - in the wallet.

Epilogue - the stream for the final episode of the series was even worse than this one when it was bad!!! Nearly three hours to get through a 45 minute programme! Bye bye 5 that's the last evening i'm wasting on you. Off to DVD Rentals 'R' Us
