Not a patch on the main L&O programmes; more like Neighbours, with a sub-standard cast; won't watch this pap again

@feupofporton: It streamed fine for me, as well as those posting comments before you. Channel 5 does regularly experience delays in posting programmes, often due to technical faults--but happily not this time! However, your problem could be down to computing resources. Demand5 requires a fast Internet connection with minimal traffic, so avoid peak times, such as evenings or weekend afternoons. You might also want to check your browser and Adobe Flash Player configurations, e.g. latest versions installed, security settings, cookie permissions, and ad-blocking. Can you play other TV channel catchup services, especially non-BBC channels, as the commercial channels (ITVplayer, 4oD, Demand5) all use similar set-ups with inserted adverts from designated 3rd-party providers?

While I agree with your view that this is the weakest of the 3 we get over here in the Law and Order stable--there was a short-lived fourth, "L&O: Trial by Jury" that was mercifully put down shortly after birth and a fifth, "L&O: LA," which only lasted a single full season Stateside despite winning awards and nominations--I wouldn't rank it on the same level as a soap opera. And I would still rate it above the "L&O: UK," whose reliance on re-hased "L&O" scripts makes it interesting only for the game of how-quickly-can-you-identify-the-original-episode or subtle UK legal system changes (other than the wigs). - - I do wonder how the Paris and Moscow versions of "L+O: CI" stack up... (preferably with english subtitles). - - As for the Goren character, maybe we're just used to seeing Dick Wolf axing lead characters (notable exception: Jack McCoy of the original "L&O"). In any case, it seems the other pairings didn't manage to improve the ratings. In the 10th and last season (2 more to go), it is Goren and Eames.
