CAKE CLUB: CHOCOLATE BROWNIES
Myleene made cornflake cakes with her left over Easter chocolate so we asked for your choc-tastic recipes. Viewer Jill Church has send in a brilliant brownie recipe for us to make – tune in for a taste.
75g cocoa powder
100g plain chocolate
4 medium to large eggs
1/2 tsp salt
450g soft light brown sugar
100g self raising flour
175g roughly chopped pecan nuts - optional
Heat oven 180 degrees C
Butter a large roasting pan with proper sides
Melt the butter broken chocolate and cocoa powder slowly together until smoothly blended and then remove from the heat
Put the eggs in a large bowl with the salt and sugar and whisk thoroughly until light and frothy. Then whisk in the butter and chocolate mixture.
Sift the flour onto the mixture and fold in lightly with a large metal spoon.
Stir in the chopped nuts and pour mixture into the buttered pan.
Bake in the centre of the oven for 30-40 minutes - they should still feel slightly undercooked.
Cool in the tin then cut into squares and remove from the tin with a flexible spatula.
