Ashlee Simpson-Wentz
Plays Violet Foster
Born in Waco, Texas, Ashlee at the age of 11 became the youngest person ever admitted to the prestigious American School of Ballet in New York City. After moving to Los Angeles with her family a few years later, she kicked off her TV career with appearances in Malcolm in the Middle and Saved By The Bell, before landing a two-year recurring role on 7th Heaven.
In 2004, reality series The Ashlee Simpson Show debuted on MTV and became the top-rating show in its primetime slot. Off the back of this, Ashlee's first album, Autobiography, was released in July 2004 and went straight to the top spot on the Billboard album charts, selling over four million copies worldwide.
Ashlee followed up this success with her second album, I Am Me, which hit number one on the Billboard charts and sold three million copies; she went on to release her critically claimed third album, Bittersweet World, and then headlined two sold-out national tours.
In 2006, Ashlee made the move to film, debuting as a supporting actress alongside Carrie Fisher in Undiscovered. Later that year she became the youngest ever actress to take on the lead role of Roxie Heart in the West End stage production of Chicago; as a result she was invited to join the likes of Brooke Shields and Melanie Griffith in a special 10th anniversary performance of the musical on Broadway.
Ashlee currently lives in Los Angeles with her husband, musician Pete Wentz, and son Bronx Mowgli Wentz.
