Biography

Summer arrived in Ramsay Street with her brother Boyd.  Following the death of their mother the two kids were shipped off to live with their grandmother Reverend Rosie Hoyland while their father was away working on the rigs in the Timor Gap.  However, after a series of tests, Summer was diagnosed with a serious heart condition which forced her father back on dry land, to Ramsay Street.

As a result of the death of her mother at such a young age, Summer started developing close relationships with older women, and soon struck up a friendship with Steph Scully. She came to see her as a mother figure, and set her up with Max, her father.

Summer was later put forward by her music teacher for a scholarship at the Gillard School of Performance and Music, a Wangaratta boarding school. However, while she was away, Steph and Max's relationship struck troubled waters, and he eventually left Erinsborough to take a job on the rigs.

While the older, feistier Summer returned to Erinsborough in controversial circumstances, she was welcomed with open arms by her step-grandmother Lyn Scully, who was convinced the teenager could do no wrong. The neighbourhood soon found out this wasn’t the case when she fell in love with Andrew Robinson....

    i remember summer started secondary school a year before me yet im at uni now and shes still at school even though engish highschool goes on for 7 years and in australia its only 6 lol shes been at that school for a loooong time

    I agree with DabbyW, although I think Jody Lucas is probably a brilliant actress, I cannot stand the character of Summer, she is a nosey know-it-all. Tash and Andrew where by far a better couple! besides, Summer and Andrew are SO full on. I'm her age, and I dont plan on marrying my current BF. Andrew should ditch her.

    love this character and jordy is great. What happened to the brother? is her dad still away on the rigs (or in prison as someone else mentioned)? bit confused as to how she arrived back in 2010 breaking into peoples houses and being a bit of a rebel and now she's classed as the goody-two-shoes!!
