In denial over the possibility of his being the father of her unborn child, Lucas is thrown when Vanessa turns up in Erinsborough, convinced she’s back because of him. When he learns she's in fact in line to become the new chef at Lassiters, however, he can't help feeling rattled, letting slip to Paul the fact that she's pregnant and convincing him to change his mind about hiring her. Lucas is torn about what he’s done, but when he learns his actions have placed Vanessa in financial turmoil, he realises he’s gone too far. Will he respond to Chris's challenge to make things right?

When Sonya takes over the care of injured baby wombat Clancy, Toadie supports Astrid's suggestion that she considers making the arrangement more permanent. Inspired to adopt a rescue dog, the couple find themselves torn when, together with Kyle, they go to the rescue shelter and realise how many unwanted animals are in need of a home. Having agreed to mull things over, Sonya reviews the footage Toadie shot and finally reaches a decision - only to discover that Kyle’s already chosen the dog for Jade.

    well if it was real life the woman wh say im pregnant, and then go meet the man and if he wasnt bothered, then that would be it, she'd just have the baby, you woulnt go around trying to move into his area where he lives, or move there, and she still doesnt have his phone number or his address!

    I don't know why they bother because we all know everything will 'work out' in the end as it always does. Toadie and Sonya will have a baby, and Lucas and Vanessa will end up together, eventually. Guaranteed.

    Well that was a dull episode. Why do the Neighbours writers insist on bleeding every storyline dry? Each story line seems to take on average 6months to a year to sort out. Sonya and Toadie baby storyline is boring me stiff now, and now we have the whole Lucas and Vanessa thing to enjoy for the next eight months!

    I don't get this. Apparently Vanessa has nowhere to live, no job and no money. Why on earth would she want a baby from a man she had a one-night stand with? Makes no sense, any normal person would be making an appointment at the clinic now. Seems that in "Neighbours World" abortion is the word that must not be spoken. Unreal.
