Mason is determined to prove that he's not responsible for Josh's accident. Imogen insists that he did nothing wrong - she saw the accident with her own eyes - but Mason won't be placated. Mason and Imogen approach Brennan, hoping that his background as a cop, coupled with his abseiling expertise, may be able to help prove Mason's innocence. Given his history with Mason, Brennan is initially reluctant to help, but when a situation at the garage gives him some perspective, he changes his mind. Brennan goes with Mason to the abseiling site and admits that it looks like a case of user error, until he spots a small metal rivet pin, which could explain why Josh fell... but only if they can prove it belonged to the harness Josh was wearing.
Still reeling from the news that Georgia is leaving Erinsborough, Kyle begs her to stay. Georgia feels she has no choice but to return to Birregurra. Determined to prove her wrong, Kyle pitches a job to Susan, convincing her that the school needs a permanent caretaker. He then successfully puts in a tender for the role. But Georgia's worried when she learns what Kyle's intending to do. Not wanting to be responsible for him taking on too much, Georgia proposes a compromise – she'll stay in Erinsborough if he'll forget about the caretaker job. Kyle happily agrees, quietly thrilled that things are moving in the right direction for him and Georgia.
Brennan remains obsessed with solving the mystery of the garage's security cameras. His answer arrives when Danni becomes terrified at the mention of a new customer: Mr Montague. It turns out that the man isn't who Danni was expecting, but she finally admits to Brennan who it is she's afraid of: her abusive ex-boyfriend.
