Sonya is trying hard to reconnect with her family and lets Callum talk her into approaching Toadie about getting his Learner's Permit. Toadie is very much against the idea – when will they find time to teach him? They both work! Sonya pushes and Toadie finally agrees as long as Sonya is the one to take him out for lessons. But Sonya insists he would be a better teacher. Thinking she's just trying to palm it off to him due to her commitments, Toadie says it's the only way it's going to happen. At the same time, Bob Kind, the convenor of Sonya's Support Meetings, asks Sonya to take his place. Sonya is very tempted, and Lauren thinks it's a wonderful idea. However Callum's driving request convinces Sonya that she's needed more by her family and so she says no to becoming a convenor and yes to teaching Callum. Unfortunately Toadie is misinformed, and thinks Sonya has agreed to Bob's request. This fuels his unhappiness and he refuses to take a call from Sonya – thereby missing out on his daughter Nell's very first baby steps.
Kate is very aware of Brennan's presence every time she is near him. It makes her awkward because she is constantly reminded of the past and she's not ready to even consider friendship with him. To her surprise, she discovers Brennan has moved into No 24, which has been empty for some time. This is the house Kate and Brennan shared when they were a couple and Kate, anxious and close to panic, asks Brennan what he is doing back here, and how could he live in their old house? Brennan recognises Kate's uneasiness and realises there may be more to Kate's reticence than she is willing to say.
Imogen and Mason are hopeful that Brennan's discovery of the broken carabiner will mean that Mason's name will be cleared. This means they can finally tell the world about their relationship, because keeping it secret has been driving them crazy. Although Brad decides not to go ahead with the civil suit against Mason, he refuses to forgive him and still considers him responsible for Josh's accident. This incenses Matt and angry words are exchanged. It looks as though the Willis / Turner feud will not heal and this means Imogen and Mason will have to keep their love for each other hidden.
