Seeing Andrew enjoying his success, Summer decides not to push him into resolving their issues, giving him space instead. She’s somewhat buoyed when she receives her first pay cheque as a journalist; however, her excitement is undermined when she sees Andrew dejected because he has to continue working at Lassiters to pay back Paul.

Hoping to prove to Andrew that she’s there for him, Summer sacrifices her pay cheque to clear his debt. But when he rejects gesture, the fundamental issues in their relationship finally rise to the surface and Summer suggests they should take a break. To her surprise, Andrew agrees. While it’s clear they’re both miserable in their decision, they remain stubborn and push on with their lives.

Meanwhile, Paul continues trying to prove that Ajay’s stance on law and order will backfire, but is thwarted when Susan’s research suggests police station closures don’t necessarily result in crime increases. Desperate to find a new angle, Paul sends Susan to learn more about the community centre itself. While there, she finds herself excited by Ajay’s ideas and returns to Paul to announce he’s on his own: she's been won over to the other side. While Paul fumes at Ajay’s win, he’s spots a new plan of attack when he hears Tash is planning to throw a house party. How will Paul use this to his advantage?

    @lucy hole, Susan dumped Karl then as soon as Karl found a new GF, she broke them up (she went up to J). yes all v *nice*, have u heard of Passive Aggressive? Susan n Sum r different ppl, but they always use the same line "i'm only trying to help" to control other ppl. Andrew wanted to take responsibility for himself, i think admirable. maybe Sum should get a puppy dog instead, at least the dog would do what she says.

Susan is a nice person never stroppy, but Summer is a nice person but stroppy their two different people, only because Susan took her in when Summer's Nan went to America does not mean Susan brought Summer up she was doing a friend a favor because she is nice. And Summer can get what your saying i'm only saying that maybe she is trying to help. Andrew would of had all the money to pay Paul but he was short because he had to pay Red Cotton because they were gonna go with a new manager so Summer was just helping out!

    @lucy hole, not all teenage girls have the urge to behave like that. Sum behaves like Susan who is not a teenage girl. always using the excuse o i'm only trying to help. if u genuinely want to help someone, u give them what they want, not what u want them to have. also Sum insists on having a break, so she gets what she deserves, i dont want them to break up but Sum has to sort herself out (not to have a fit every time someone doesnt do exactly what she expects). i suppose otherwise there'd b no story :-))

    Why do they insist on pronouncing Rhys incorrectly, they pronounce it as Reece, there's no 'e' or 'R' in the word 'Rh' is a letter in it's own right as the name is a Welsh name and is pronounced as 'Gryf Rhys Jones's name is pronounced. Thanks.

    @lucy hole, if u truly luv some1, u let that person live their life. Summer is not just telling Andrew to go to uni, she undermined him (her words n actions dont match). she sulks BIG time whenever Andrew doesnt do what she wants. she pestered Tash until she gave in n brought Emelia in. Summer needs to be stopped. she's brought up by Susan ... what do we expect :-)) Andrew should ditch Summer until she understands she shouldnt try to control everyone around her. BTW, if someone *proves* that they could live ur life better than u do, would u let them pay for u as a *favour*?

    @observer i know that but Summer is only helping Andrew out but Summer would of gone university if she did not cheat, its not like she planned on getting Andrew to go university and then plan to cheat is it? Plus on the first day of university Andrew said he liked it there so Summer actually done him a favor.

    @lucy hole, Summer is only trying to help herself ... to live Andrew's life. if Andrew had accepted her money, he'd have to do exactly what she's arranged for him for the rest of his life. he didnt want to go to uni but went because of her. would u let someone like that buy u?

    Narcissistic Summer is so self-centred i'm surprised that ppl r trashing Andrew to support her. She is beautiful BUT definitely not bright nor smart. if she were smart, she would not cheat to jeopardise her uni chance that she wanted so much; she would not take over Andrew's life as if she owned him n expect the relationship to work; ... the list goes on n on ...
