Feeling guilty about sabotaging Vanessa’s job opportunity, Lucas has little success in finding a way to help her. When he witnesses the extent of her financial woes, however, he resolves to do the only thing he can and attempts to reach out by offering her money. Fiercely independent, Vanessa is offended by the gesture and, tired of being pushed away, Lucas washes his hands of her. Despite the resulting public confrontation when she realises he was to blame for Paul's hiring decision, Lucas stands firm, insisting both he and Vanessa are better off without each other – only to discover Kate has invited her to move in with them until she can sort herself out.

As Kyle tries to hide the dog from Jade, she becomes suspicious of his sneaky behaviour. Although she rightly assumes he’s planning a surprise for her birthday, when she hears him ordering something engraved, she mistakenly assumes he's going to propose. Fearing he’s about to get down on one knee in front of all her friends, Jade at first tries to shut down Kyle’s gift; when she finds out the truth, she's relieved to see Kyle, too, is unprepared for marriage, but will either of them prove to be any more clued-up when it comes to looking after their new four-legged friend?

    there is someone on here psting stuff about how she should have a abortuion, i think this story line is confusing, she has a one night stand and says she doesnt want anything to do with him yet actually went to his place to find him, and when she did, she says she doesnt need him?. why the heck did she go to his town to meet him again for?. why is she so angry, he doesnt care she is pregnant s she hits him with her bag for not caring, even though she says she doesnt like him?. well why not go away then vanessa!

    I feel sorry for Vanessa because she has no job, no prospects, has she even got money coming in? Where is she living? I thought it was out of order on Monday's episode that Lucas told Paul she was pregnant but why did Paul not give her the job? Is it because she was gonna go on Paternity leave? What? Anyway I think Jade should marry Kyle because Kyle is not like her ex he is a nice guy and is defiantly not a girl beater or whatever Jade's ex was.

    @Claire, i feel sorry for Kyle too. everyone else here saying o how cute they r together. Jade behaving like that is cute? ? Kyle should go out with "Bossy" instead. Bossy (their new dog) is much cuter ...

    Haha Observer - I thought that too, Lucas gets upset, so queue fast ride on bike!! I'm feeling sorry for Kyle, he's bending over backwards to accomodate Jade, and make her happy, but don't get the feeling she's doing the same, she will need to if Kate gets too close.

    i cant believe ppl here r on Lucas's side. he's irresponsible every time a problem he goes speeding on his bike. how was Vanessa going to know he would be so mean, she told him coz he had the right to know also not to deprive of kid not having a father. what if the father was happy. i dont blame her for being angry. Lucas should be so lucky ... he had a choice, he did not have to sabotage her life.

    If Vanessa told Lucas he didn't have to have anything to do with the baby, why tell him? It all seems odd to me that she has nothing and she goes to Lucas only to knock him back when he tries to help, even if the help was late in coming (paying for her food). It seems one sided too. As Carly says, it takes two. What about the pill? She blames him for getting her pregnant, but he didn't do it alone :D. He may not have been interested, but he's had little time to get used to the idea and everyone is turning against him. I sense a twist somewhere, bound to happen...

    OK@peachfuzz, fair enough. But where's balance? So far, its all been "Lucas take responsibility" But what about hers? He is not forcing her to become a mother against her will but she is forcing him to become a father against his? How is that right? Just seems this storyline is very one-sided to me.

    @Carly I completely agree with legal & safe abortions, but "Girl sleeps with Lucas, takes abortion pill and never sees him again" doesn't make a very dramatic storyline.

    Just because a baby isnt planned doesnt automatically mean you need to think abortion. I was in the same situation as her and there was no way in hell id even consider getting rid of them (twins). I told the dad what he did was up to him and he chose to have nothing to do with them. My babies are now 2 and i wouldnt change them for a second

    Wow that Vanessa is a total cow! Why is Lucas getting all the blame? Takes 2 to tango as they say. She has no money, no job and no family? She is starting to look like a total user. I know not everyone agrees with abortion, but to not even discuss it is unrealistic and to ban any mention of it is pathetic. I been watching Neighbours forever, but if she is going to become a regular then I don't know what.
