Bob Morley joins Neighbours
Bob Morley, known for playing Home and Away's Drew Curtis, will set Ramsay Street pulses racing as a potential love interest for one of its residents.
Life for Neighbours' Chris Pappas hasn't exactly been short of relationship drama since he hit Ramsay Street last year - first breaking former flame Summer's heart by coming out as gay, and then becoming her wingman to support her through her on/off relationship with Andrew.
But, with news of another new arrival in Erinsborough, the teen's luck could be set to change. This week saw 26-year-old Bob Morley, best known to soap fans for playing Home and Away's Drew Curtis, begin filming a six-month guest role as nurse Aidan Foster and a potential new love interest for Chris.
'I'm excited about the storyline and how it develops,' says Bob. 'I don't see it as a big deal that the character is gay; it certainly doesn't define him, and what the writers have planned is really interesting and authentic.'
Neighbours' producers are remaining tight-lipped about how the two characters cross paths but are hopeful that viewers will respond to what lies in store.
'To be true to the Chris character now he is a regular in storylines, we knew at some stage he needed to meet someone,' says executive producer Susan Bower. 'How it unfolds, all will be revealed; however, I think viewers will find the story compelling.'
Bob can be seen on screen from early September in Australia.
