Ramsay Street's Dahl gets in a flap

Nothing ruffles the feathers of the Kennedys' pet galah Dahl more than not being able to spend time on one of her favourite shoulders which just happens to belong to long-time Neighbours star Tom Oliver.

Tom, who plays the lovable Lou Carpenter, and Dahl regularly stroll the corridors of the show’s studio between scenes and have forged a strong bond over the eleven years they have worked together.

'She is a finicky old girl, very choosy about the company she keeps, and in fact, doesn’t like females at all,' jokes Tom. 'Fletch [Alan Fletcher, who plays Karl Kennedy] and I are the only ones to have the privilege of her clawing our shoulders.'

So if you ever wondered if the squawking coming from the Kennedy set were sound effects or Susan Kennedy giving Dr Karl a serve, they are the real thing.

'She rarely fluffs her lines,' adds Tom.
