Paddy and Sally's first destination is Andalusia, the heartland of Spanish gitanos and the home of flamenco. In Sacromonte, the ancient gitano quarter of Granada, they meet Curro and his family. He is a legend of flamenco and his passion inspires Sally to learn the dance.
Paddy is not so keen and sets off to meet another gitano, a rising star of the bullfighting world. Alphonso Olivio Soto shows Paddy the essential moves for a toreador and, of course, Paddy has to have a go. Sally is outraged and refuses to attend.
In Seville, Sally persuades Paddy to join her for a flamenco lesson – after they have been shopping for the right outfits, but Paddy is reluctant to give up his trademark vests. It is a difficult dance, but
both give it a go, with a little success.
Later, they visit the infamous 3000 Viviendas – one of the poorest and most dangerous areas of Seville and home tomany gitanos. There they meet Luis and his family and help on his market stall. This leads to an invitation to a spectacular Spanish gypsy wedding, where they discover a shocking tradition. During the ceremony, the bride must undergo a virginity test for the wedding to proceed. This ancient custom shocks Paddy and outrages Sally.

I am a vegan animal lover but I don't see what the fuss is about with showing bullfighting. I don't think Channel 5 were promoting or condoning it - just showing a reality. It wouldn't be right to censor something just because we wish it didn't exist. The anthropological nature of this series has an obligation to show the differences in various cultures - warts and all.

How come 25 people can be disturbed about scenes where no bulls were hurt but no mention of the young bride who was violated to see if she was a virgin I found that more disturbing,

I enjoyed watching, although i am totally against the cruel "sport" of bull fighting, i think channel 5 have a right to show other cultures, there are many "barbaric" acts done by people from all parts of the world, some deem ok some do not, if we go down this road then where will it end? Thanks channel 5 i enjoyed it and choose to FF past the bullfighting part, they do explain in the credits btw, so if your against it dont watch, just like i am against illegal occupations so i dont watch programmes that contain it!

This program is hilarious, they are exact opposites of one another lol I can't wait for next week! The things Paddy says are so funny 'When you're in the ring the bull just gets bigger and bigger' hahahahahaha The only thing about the program that I didn't like was going to a bullfighting training arena. I know that they didn't kill any bulls during the program, but that doesn't make it alright to show the training facilities, because you know what's going to happen once they've completed their training.

I am outraged that you should be even thinking of showing any connection with bullfighting,it is a cruel act of torture for 30 minutes,it is not a sport nor is it culture-but the remains of the sadistic nature of uneducated Spaniards. Many townsin Spain have now banned bullfighting. And promotion in any shape is a backward step--Shame on you channel 5-

Please do not promote the ritualistic torture of animals as entertainment or so-called culture! It is evil, vicious and barbaric and deserves to be decried at every opportunity!

This is barbaric, why are you glamourising this horrendous cruelty to animals. It is the same as cock fighting and badger baiting, would you show this on your channel?

For gods sake, more bullfighting promotion? What part of sadistic torture to an animal do you not see? Would you cover dogfighting in the UK in such a light hearted manner? Pull your medieval heads out of your backsides and help better the world, not make it worse!

Why does English television insist on showing barbaric ritualised cruelty? There is enough abuse in the world without promoting this type of state-sanctioned torture.
