Episode 7 guest judge Simon Rimmer is a chef, presenter and author who has captured the public's interest with his passion for cooking.
Simon Rimmer is an experienced television and radio broadcaster, and a popular and respected chef.
As well as his weekly presenter/chef role on Something For The Weekend (BBC Two), Simon has fronted an impressive line-up of food shows: Food Fighters (BBC One), Simon Rimmer’s Dinners (Good Food), Breaking into Tesco (Channel 5), Recipe for Success (BBC Two), Grubs Up (ITV), Local Food Heroes (UKTV), Great British Waste Menu (BBC One) and Meals In Moments (Channel 5).
Simon began his career on Granada Breeze, hosting shows such as Livetime and Battle of the Chefs. His down-to-earth personality and fun approach to food led to him appearing on This Morning, Granada Tonight and other daytime shows including The Afternoon Show and Gloria’s Open House on Channel 5. In 2007 Simon’s presenting roles included This Little Farmer Went to Market and To Buy or Not to Buy. He also appeared on BBC Two's Great British Menu.
To add to his talents, Simon has written and published four books: The Accidental Vegetarian, Rebel Cook, Lazy Brunch and The Seasoned Vegetarian. He also regularly contributes to food magazines including Delicious, Olive, and BBC Good Food Magazine, and has a column in Vegetarian Living.
Aside from his hectic filming schedule Simon is chef patron of two award-winning restaurants in Manchester, Greens and Earle.
