After an evening of introductions, it was time for our bachelor to award his first rose, with lucky Layla on the receiving end.
The next morning Gavin sprung a surprise visit on the bachelorettes, to tell them he'd organised a speed-dating session back at the villa. With one rose up for grabs and two minutes to impress, the stakes were high - and it was Carrie, who opted to beat the clock by writing Gav a love letter, who became the second girl through.
For the rest of the girls a tense elimination ceremony lay in store, with only 13 spots up for grabs. Danielle, Georgie, Nickie, Zivile, Ola, April, Vikki, Angharad, Morgan and Aaleeah were all awarded a coveted rose.
Keshia and Carianne were next to be saved, leaving just one place in the villa; the other girls would be on the first plane home. Safe for another week was Laura Blair.
