Feb 17th sounds about right, FIVE did say it would return in February. As someone who is up to episode 13 (watching at US pace) I can say you've all got A LOT to look forward to. Scaro, you'll hear more about that soon...that act in ep 7 is what kicks this seasons RJ arc into gear pretty much. Enjoy!

H, If you are going by the blurb on the main tab for the Mentalist on here, it says that The Mentalist will be back in February..... However as this is 5, I guess you never know. I really do hope so as I miss the Mentalist and enjoy watching it on here (even when the catch-up service could be better) as I don't have TV.

I'm disgusted at how slow demand five are now. Its such a shame as there are shows like the Mentalist which your customers love. 4od seems to be beating you at it with their shows and quick service. If you dont get smart with this soon, im sure channel 4 will snap this show up from underneath you.

I think someone at 5's winding me up! While I was typing my last comment ep.8 appeared as if by magic. Doesn't alter my view of 5's efficiency though. too many things go wrong on here to make it an enjoyable experience trying to access programmes. Come on 5 - get in line with all the other player providers, expand & refine the service or else we'll all have to wait until the re-runs on other channels. P.S. Thanks for ep 8, notwithstanding.

I see from the posts that ep.8 was available at one point. That being so, could someone please explain to me why it's gone missing again? Everyone's been going on about i-player but the best viewing site, without a doubt, is 4oD. Comprehensive back catalogue of 100's of programmes & all the latest content up immediately. Seems to me the very least 5 should do is get 1 programme right. As for B.B, consign it to the bin where it belongs.

I'm happy I'm upto date with the Ch5 episodes as got 5OD to successfully work (didn't try and pause it at all). My main complaint now that I've accepted the mid-season break is the lack of communication about this. Why are we all venting here? Because we we'ren't informed it was going to happen and we aren't given anything to appease us. It's a Mentalist heavy schedule one week; cold turkey the next. Makes no sense.

Thanks for the update Con. To all you moaners...it's not like mid-season breaks are exactly a new concept to us are they!? What interest me tho is the way C5 'works'. CLEARLY all us Mentalist viewers are in no way interested in BB... The broadcaster looses a whole bunch of loyalty points... The Advertisers £100,000's is wasted on a confused viewing demongraphic...arghh!! only a Mentalist could figure out C5's broadcasting philosophy!

Still watching at US pace myself so not too bothered about this, but I sitll like to come on here for old times sake and I feel your guys frustration. FIVE confirmed on twitter a few days back that The Mentalist will be back on air in February. It's having a mid season break of around a month, just as the US does (just later.) Due to the number of 1, 2 and even 3 week breaks in the second half of the season in the US schedule, the UK still wont be too far behind the US come the end of this season.

I've never watched BB b4 but am now quite enjoying it seeing as there's NOTHING else on tv to watch, its all gone rather limp on all channels after xmas, its just news and sport and cant stand either, the mentalist was the only little bit of inspiration, c'mon 5OD save us from all this dross

Like others I have no idea why it didn't pick up on the series link and I've been scouring the TV guides looking for the re-run date (it's normally on in the same week) but I seem to have missed it. This catch-up service keeps jamming for me during the ads, not reloading the programme back after the ad breaks - unacceptable. PS I don't watch BB either. Richard Desmond take note. So I came here thinking that channel 5 may have just put the Mentalist on demand5 so people who have no interest in Big Brother could watch it. However, after reading the comments am I now right in thinking that it has been cancelled for around a month? I am having trouble believing that something as ridiculous and infantile would replace a show that many are avid watchers of. Was it not enough, 5, to not allow us to watch the episode just gone for three days because of 'technical trouble'? I was willing to let that slide because everyone had bad days, but this isn't just bad, it's foolish.

Channel is a commercial company that is out to make a profit. We do not need to be grateful to them for providing a service. They need to appreciacte our custom. Without it they will not be ablt to sell advertising slots and make a profit. Without profit they would cease to exist!!! That said I watch a lot of channel five and think Mentalist is great. That does not take away the fact the on demand service is rubbish and this happens all the time.

Update to my Comment. I just finished watching it and as always it was a good episode. Not sure why it wasn't letting me play it earlier but it's now working for me which is great! :) And I have to agree with what people earlier on were saying. Just because they usually get the episode put up much earlier, people seem to take it for granted and instead of being grateful for it being online start to just expect it to be done for them each week. Then when they might not get one up as early people start thinking they're being deprived of it. Remember, you don't pay anything to Channel 5 to watch these episodes, so be grateful that hey go to the extra effort of putting it online for you.

@ No, true the beeb doesn't do that but then again they don't have to as just because we own a tv we HAVE to pay the outdated license fee. demand 5 is a free service paid for by the adverts which prob doesn't add up anyway close to the money made by the beeb by the fee. tbh i'd rather watch chan 5 apart from QI, Doctor Who and Sherlock. Mentalist, CSI's, Gadget show, House (when it's back),films and documentaries too, far outstrip most of what the beeb can offer imo

Nice to see the CH5 Mentalist board, as ever, full moaning people with no TV and an annoying attitude. I'd say I missed the days when these pages were used for episode discussion ONCE everyone had finally been patient and seen the episode, but then again that has never been the case. I agree with Jenni completely. For the record, this is probably my least favourite of the 10 episodes (I watch at US pace) so far this season. But, as ever, it's still great.

Some people need to relax. Channel 5 are doing you a favour by having a catchup service. You don't have to pay for it, you don't even have to register...if you're that bothered about watching any programme turn your tv on and watch it. If not get over yourselves and be patient while channel 5 do their best to provide you with a FREE catchup service...it is not your right, it's a privilege!

Thanks Demand5 for post at the top explaining having technical issues (otherwise I'd assumed just couldn't be bothered which would be more irritating). I think the show is great, and while the BBC iplayer may have fewer technical difficulties it does still get them and I've found that there's often more I'm interested in watching on FiveDemand (like the Mentalist, Alphas, Dark Blue and other decent imported dramas). Also impressed by lack of censorship of negative comments (I assume most of censored comments must have plot spoilers or obscenities, as plenty of negative criticism left untouched!) Keep up the good work DemandFive and Happy New Year :-)

This is ridiculous - I totally forgot it was on yesterday and have come specifically to watch it only to find you've yet to make it viewable. Its bad enough that it isnt on the iphone app at all - it's quite another thing to not be timely with the episodes onhere either. It makes me much less likely to bother with demand five in future too.

If you are going to offer a service then you should make sure it is at a good standard. Having to wait for 18 hours and probably more, is not a good standard. At least we could be told WHEN, if at all, this episode will be available for viewing. Sort it out Demand5.
