i think the big guy with the cat could be linked to red john and in the most recent epsiode at the end jane bumped into a guy who knew him but jane didnt him. so that guy could be RJ.

Chief of police is red John. He should have been meeting jane at end of last series but didnt show (but sent other bloke) He quotes William Blake in one if the episodes and tiger tiger is also written by William Blake. Gotta know your eng lit...

OMG, Just spent the last 3 weeks watching series 1 to 4 and i am now up to speed. (and addicted). No way is Jane Red John that would just be pants. I thought Bertram could definately make sense. Why though would the guy pretend to have been Red John at the beginning of this series, its not like Red John has disapeared for long and RJ must have known Jane would figure it out????????? SO WHY???

That wasn't Minelli that quoted Blake, that was Bertram, the Director of CBI. And that wasn't Red John, just one of his assistants. I do think Bertram is a possible, he creeps me out a little, none of Minelli, Hightower, or even this new guy's warmth or flappability. If RJ turns out to be Rigsby I may cry.

Interesting... I've only ever had one RJ suspect and it always keeps coming back to him - Minelli. Maybe too obvious, but he was quoting Blake in one episode, and Jane suspected he was linked to RJ so they used him to lure the "real" RJ at the end of the last series. Plus he was near the cells when the guy went up in flames. Also, the rest of the team were already in CBI when Jane joined, Forgive my poor memory, but either Minelli brought Jane into CBI or joined after he did, either of which make him more likely to be RJ..... lol will probably turn out to be Rigsby after all!

JANE IS NOT RED JOHN. Bruno confirmed it at the end of S3 and the network/production company/executives would not allow it due to it's chances in reruns through its syndication deal.
