Randall, the teenage would-be assassin who was saved by Rick from a group of walkers has fully recovered from the leg wound he received. But the group have decided that the best way to deal with him is to drive him away from the farm then dump him and leave him to his own devices.
Rick and Shane agree to take him off the farm. On the journey their talk turns to the issues between them. Rick questions Shane about what really happened to Otis and about his attraction to Lori.
18 miles away from the Hershel's farm they find a town which they think will be a suitable place to drop Randall. The boy pleads for his life before saying that he knows Hershel’s daughter Maggie, claiming they went to school together, and he knows the farm. As Randall's already tried to kill members of their group before, Shane is keen to get rid of him permanently. But Rick doesn't agree...
Back at the farm, Lori, Maggie and Andrea are nursing a now conscious Beth. However, Beth is in a very fragile mental state and Andrea is not feeling overly sympathetic. Will this state of affairs cause further division within the already fragmented group?

@Paul -I fail to see how thinking "this is dumb" when a man has 3 zombies on top of him and doesn't get a single scratch or bite makes me dumb. i watch this for entertainment, I read Chomsky for the high-brow moments in life. Dont you think their actions are dumb at times too? They had the foresight to hood and disorientate the wounded leg kid when planning to dump him, yet when they go to kill him they leave him fully aware of his fate. How dumb was that? We saw how dumb it was, they couldn't kill him because he was able to express his emotion - fear. If the just told him they were going to dump him again, they could have shot him when he wasn't expecting it, and when they couldn't see the fear in his face. Their actions are inconsistent and dumb - "dead" zombie goes to grab person, so another person goes into the back of a pick up trunk with "dead" zombies ...d'oh. And they handle the zombies without gloves ...unlimited supply of gloves and bullets available, remember!

@Shaz - There is no unlimited supply of bullets, but there are 2 things to consider: 1) Over 99% of the population are now zombies, and zombies don't use bullits. A lot of gun shops in the USA, never mind the army and police supplies, so it would take a long time to use them up. 2) It's not that difficult to make your own bullets given some basic tools and supplies that would be fairly readily available. @Anna @The Axeman - Moving along the storyline by skipping filler scenes are not confusing or inconsistent if you have been paying attention: 1) They said in the last episode that they would drive him out of camp and let him go "when his leg is healed". 2) Editing techniques that foreshorten time sequences or replay familiar or predictable story elements out of order are common these days. The episode "started" by showing action which leads to a cliff-hanger situation. That served a few purposes: i) It adds some tempo to the show, because the producers had to later on get us through some relatively dry narrative and character development when they were telling Rick and Shane's story. ii) it helps re-enforce to the viewer that the plot is developing away from the farm and camp, by showing footage set in an unfamiliar compund with both Rick and Shane attempting to escape walkers while the bound "boy" from last episode wriggles towards the knife. iii) the show's makers did hope we were smart enough to cope with this editing style, but again for anybody too forgetful or stupid to work it out, if you actually watch the programme and listen, the characters discuss the situation several times during various scenes, and explain that he has now recovered from his injury, and they are now following the plan outlined in the previous episode to release him away from the farm camp. Unless you are a young child or have learning difficulties, it was not hard to follow at all. If that's you, it's time to start using your brain more often so this doesn't happen again the next time you see a movie or (as-if) read a book. Think about it: If you think "This is dumb!", it usually means that you are... It's also ironic that the people I'm talking about have lost interest by now and aren't reading this. They switched-off half-way through point 2! :P

Demand5 is not RFC standards compliant software, and uses 3rd party plug-ins to work. This means it is not stable and is almost impossible to test all configuration, so it will not work reliably on all combinations of computer, operating system and browser. A Note to the Trolls: It has nothing to do with how fast your internet connection is, or how fast your computer is. The only real solution is to find a combination of the above hardware and software that have been properly tested. After many failed attempts, I have found Firefox on Windows 7 is reliable for all UK based TV streams. It may not work for your machine though, but until C5 invest in a properly tested or compliant solution, they will always prioritise their ad income over the tv show stream's reliability. Not good enough, but that's life. P.S. Ppl who typ msgs lyk dis are idiots. P.P.S. Some of the characters are becoming characatures, which is a shame, because it is not necessary, and most of the audience are smart enough to "get" the more subtle hints that were portrayed in Series 1. Fingers crossed that Season 3 keeps the bar high and doesn't play to the thick people with no attention span or intelligence.

Watched in IE9 , did freeze, even during the adverts. Found that going from full screen to normal window and back again did make it played again, At one stage it went blocky for 2 min. Rewound and it worked. Managed to watch it all. As Andrew said it could be IE9 .

Anna - I hear you, this is what is ruining it for me - too many inconsistencies and dumb actions. Nearly at the end of season 2 and someone figures out that shooting a lone walker only attracts more walkers. So the solution...use a short handles knife ...d'oh! How the hell Shane & Rick didnt get a single scratch, I mean, come on. Axes I tell you, axes!

I really like this show but could someone tell me where they are getting the unlimited supply of bullets from?! For a tv programme that aims to make it as realistic as possible this is not realistic! It's not as if they are using their bullets carefully either - Rick has only started telling Shane now that their are other ways of killing the walkers - with a knife. It was great to see someone finally putting Lori in her place! Can't believe there are only 3 episodes left in the series :(

Is there a scene missing on 5OD? Episode 9 ended where they'd escaped & brought the injured kid back to the farm. Then episode 10 started off where Rick & Shane were driving along with the kid the boot and he wasn't injured any more. Why did they want to leave him there? Couldn't follow it at all. Where's Hershel gone? Is he dead?

Hell no, Shane is NOT realistic. For those saying he is, lets see how realistic you think he is when he sacrifices you to save his own ass, or kills you so he could take your woman, and then maybe kills your woman if she won't sleep with him. If society was like that, there wouldn't be any society left. Yes the kid they've got is a danger, but how about thinking first? And Steve O, you're talking about namby pamby rules? Don't forget you would need other humans to survive. It's all cute now coz they can go to shops and take stuff they need but that wouldn't last long. Everything would rot away and you would be back in the stone age. No machines, no medicines, no factories, no electricity, no cars, no fuel etc etc. Without other humans with other skills, it would be very hard to survive coz we're not as tough as our ancestors used to be. They didn't have fridges and prescriptions and they didn't get sick coz they ate food that was one day past it's expiry date.

This is the best zombie fest ever from the rotting face hanging off zombie to the fresh ones brilliant acting aswell. And i love all zombie progs & movies. I hope it never stops series 10+. True aswell about shane if they dont kill that kid it could end up being the death of Rick n Shanes group? either kill him or let him stay coz if he did make it back to his group they could seek revenge. I would head out find a electrical shop & gun shop build up a excelent perimiter defence line you just need soler panels then electric fence/cctv/perimiter alarms & booby traps ect ect... its not like you have to pay for anything killing all the ((ZOMBIES)) along the way. .SAFETY FOR THE FUTURE. You would love me on yr team.....

Love this show Shane is a realist and the sooner everyone gets off his back about it the better. This show is about survival and there are no rules about how to survive, you can't apply the namby pamby rules of society that used to exist as that has long gone and the sooner they begin to work together the stronger they will be, great shot of the walker trying to get through the windscreen..

1st let me say that I love TWD. I also love Shane, so all u haters out there - hush yo mouts!!! 2nd, to everybody that has had trouble loading online I have a tip - when the play ready page shows, don't click play immediately. Instead, wait about 5 mins so prog can load properly, then play. I've had problems wit buffering and stuttering myself - but no more since I tried dis. Hope dis helps yall!!! BTW I also have problems wit Sky Anytime and dis tip helps wit dat 2. We just need to give our computers a little time to load da info b4 we try 2 watch it. If that doesn't work, try throwing ur comp out of da nearest window. It won't load da prog any faster but damn you'll feel good!!! Happy viewing!
