Rick searches for his family after emerging from a coma into a world terrorised by the walking dead. Morgan and Duane, whom he meets along the way, help teach Rick the new rules for survival.
Channel 5 will show season 3 in may same as season 2.
There was only six episodes in season 1 so that is why it started a month earlier in 2011 but yeah its always first on Sky channel FX witch now is fox I bought Sky 21.50 a month just for this show love the walking dead can't waite for season 4 october

This is one of the best shows i have seen in the last few years (at least). Everything... the acting, dirrecting, visual effects, and for the first time EVER a zombie movie/TV show that has a good storyline

Yeah. Excellent. Just watched episode one for the second time. I can foresee a tedious love triangle happening when he meets up with his family and his buddy. We surely gotta see the black guy and his kid again. They were great. Maybe the kid'll learn how to shoot and put mum out of her misery.

amazing. Just watched the first episode. Been tracking how the series been performing since its US debut and i quite enjoyed the first episode . . . but it's not as good as the graphic novel. Highly recommended, even if you never read a comic book before. Robert Kirkman is just amazing.
At last a zombie series, long overdue, vampires are ok but they have been done to death errr so have zombies but you know what I mean. Good acting for the most part along with reasonable amount of gore for the zombies, sorry, walkers.
Will just have to watch more to see if the story arc(s)can be original enough to maintain interest.
So, kudos to 5 on what looks like being another good show.

Very good start to a series. Like the human feel to it, rather than the usual 'oh they are zombies, we've seen the movies, let's just kill them' effect which usually happens now. Oh, the answers to the where did the matches come from, little girl picking up the doll and how Rick survived the coma in the hospital without being eaten questions, are actually there in the episode if you look out for them. Well done to 5 for showing this.

i dont get how it starts in a gas station and he sees a zombie girl then next minute hes in his car chatting to his partner?? it doesnt say anything to indicate its gone back in time. then he wakes and obviously while hes in a coma the zombies have come but this doesnt explain the 1st clip of him and the zombie girl?!!
This is terible - has the sherif never seen a zombie film (28 days latter) or played one of the zombie shoot em up games? What a mumpet - and the writers!!! So many opportunities missed - never mind, it'll be over soon, he'll probably get eaten next week LOL
Well what I want to know is how come he wasnt eaten in the hospital. They had locked the zombies in the fridge and there was a woman half eaten in the corridor but hey if he had been eaten then there would be no series. Despite that it was enjoyable.
great start, would and could have been better if they had the balls to have killed the police man in the first episode and left us guessing every week with whoever they followed, a sacrifical lamb if you will lol
The programme was worth waiting for.. thank goodness they put it on 5.. so people who dont have sky.. ( and yes some people dont want to buy sky ! ) can watch it ! Good special effects.. the half woman pulling herself along on the ground... more sci-fi please !!!!!!!!!!! and keep it to ordinary television.. so we can ALL watch it ! thanks... Channel 4 should listen as well,,, putting True Blood on fx... so people with out sky had to miss the programmes !!!!! put it back on to channel 4.. where we can watch it !
Excellent! Watched it here on Demand 5. This is great cinema for the living-room. Andrew Lincoln is the perfect lead character for this too! Am worried that future series will be taken by Sky though. Remember Lost? Sky has too much power and sadly money talks more than ever! Still refuse to buy Sky.

I an not sure about this one. It could have done with a flashback or two to explain exactly how the current state arose rather than relying on expositional dialogue.
Good acting by the main character but the screenplay could have been better. The chap certainly makes an abrupt recovery, one moment he is a dazed post-coma patient, the next a fully functioning Sheriff's Deputy again.
I shall be watching Episode Two to see if there is some improvement.

Oh dear Channel 5. I am hugely anticipating THE WALKING DEAD and love the fact that you are going to air it for free, unlike Sky who demand payment of some kind. But I must say that your decision to purchase the rights to BIG BROTHER pretty much cancels out any progress I thought you were making.

I've been looking at what I've saved to record later on my PVR, it's mostly Channel 5 programmes. The personal reviews I've seen for Walking Dead make it highly antisipated by me, look forward to seeing all your reviews when it is aired
I second the whole Sky TV angst. Tis wrong that we have to pay money to watch what will be, rightfully, free to watch. This show looks brilliant. I've heard nothing but good things about it. Saw the huge creepy billboard poster advertising that it was to air on C5 on my way home from the gym today. Go Channel 5!
Yeah Channel 5, way to go. Can't hack handing over good money to Sky but very much want to see this show. Now I get to keep my money and still watch it.

Good show ruined by adverts every 10 minutes, I gave up watching it and I will wait for the dvd to come out!

I an not sure about this one. It could have done with a flashback or two to explain exactly how the current state arose rather than relying on expositional dialogue. Good acting by the main character but the screenplay could have been better. The chap certainly makes an abrupt recovery, one moment he is a dazed post-coma patient, the next a fully functioning Sheriff's Deputy again. I shall be watching Episode Two to see if there is some improvement.

I see it too but be watching it again i think it be beter 2nd time round good on you C5. As for Big Brother I will be watching that as well and would love to see if you have changed or left it the same sameness lol and if Walking dead 2 come in August when BB starts i know they wont clash :D

Ha ha, yes, I'm not too keek either on Channel 5 optioning Big Brother, but Walking Dead looks brilliant. Can't wait. I can, however, wait an eternity to see another Big Brother series.

Oh dear Channel 5. I am hugely anticipating THE WALKING DEAD and love the fact that you are going to air it for free, unlike Sky who demand payment of some kind. But I must say that your decision to purchase the rights to BIG BROTHER pretty much cancels out any progress I thought you were making.

I've been looking at what I've saved to record later on my PVR, it's mostly Channel 5 programmes. The personal reviews I've seen for Walking Dead make it highly antisipated by me, look forward to seeing all your reviews when it is aired

I second the whole Sky TV angst. Tis wrong that we have to pay money to watch what will be, rightfully, free to watch. This show looks brilliant. I've heard nothing but good things about it. Saw the huge creepy billboard poster advertising that it was to air on C5 on my way home from the gym today. Go Channel 5!
