I'm Scottish and would like to get rid of the Scottish Government entirely its just another level of civil servants to pay for. Salmond is only after power for himself and if Scotland had been on its own at the begining of this finanacial disaster it would have gone the same way as Iceland and Ireland. What banks did the goverment have to rescue RBS & HBOS.

Not every one in Scotland is a supporter of Alex Salmond, nor would like Independance. It should just be a vote yes or no . Alex Salmond will sway certain sectors of society, time he stopped rambling on about Independance thats all he talks about

My blood boils at the thought of ANYONE out with Scotland having a say in Scottish independence!! The truth is, if you live in Scotland, irrespective of nationality, you have a vote. For free education, free prescriptions, free hospital parking, free road tolls and frozen council tax. I ask, why can't your government do the same? Did Britain have a vote when Zimbabwe gained independence? Or Australia, or New Zealand? How about when Latvia, Lithuania Poland or Georgia gained independence from Russia? How arrogant of the English to make this claim!! India didn't even have a vote, they just left after WWII!!!! Do you know any Welshmen or women who would like a vote on Scots independence?? I think there is an inherent fear of Scottish independence, given that Mr Salmond has already clearly shown we CAN stand on our own two feet. Did Mr Cameron consult Mr Salmond when he vetoed the EU vote last month? NO! And for what? For the City of London to capture wealth from anywhere including Scotland!! No, YOU have no right to a say in MY future thank you for your concern!!

Message to lesbude:- We did want independence. In '79, Thatcher changed the rules saying we required 66% for independence, we got 64%!!! We will get independence once the oil runs out, like India did when the diamonds ran out!!!

Scottish independence or the SNP has been about long before oil was found and then stolen and used to prop up England and maggie in the 1980s

The Scots couldn't afford to mine the oil without being part of Great Britain

Why cant we have a referendum here in England as to whether we want to remain Great Britain? I would quite happily be part of an independent England, where each individual state pays for itself. I'm not Scottish, Welsh or Irish, and I feel no particular kinship with any of those states. Let the English be free, and let the others do whatever they want.
