Matthew Wright hosts the topical debate show with Jamie Foreman.
Part 1 - Hellos
Part 2/3 -IS HALAL MEAT FOR THE CHOP?
Is Halal meat for the chop? Britain’s top vet wants the ritual slaughter of animals for the table - as demanded by both Jewish and Muslim scripture -to be banned because too many animals suffer. John Blackwell wants all animals to be stunned first or the practice banned which one Jewish politician says would be anti-Semitic. But with a lot of halal and kosher meat in the general food market, it’s an issue that effect us all. Except smug vegetarians I suppose. So what do you say?
Part 4 - Todays Papers
Part 5 - CAN PRISON WORK?
So many headlines tell us it doesn’t - how can it when a quarter of offenders are back inside within a year - and yet Richard’s proof it can. I remember Huey Morgan telling us how a short sharp shock can turn some lags’ lives around but longer stretches can be counter productive. So can prison get you back on the straight and narrow? Maybe it’s what happens to cons when they leave - no jobs, no home - that sends them back to crime?
Part 6 - BETTER TO READ KIDS’ BOOKS THAN NOTHING
Is it better to read books aimed a younger kids than to read nothing at all? Yesterday we heard how secondary school kids are shunning books aimed at their age group preferring easier reads designed for younger children. Have you got a problem with that?
Part 7 -NO PLACE FOR BBC3 ON TV?
Is there really no place for BBC3 on TV? BBC3 is to be axed from the box and given a new home online in a bid to recoup the £85m a year it costs to entertain its relatively small audience. This was the channel that brought you Gavin and Stacey and Bad Education - are you already weeping into your coffee?
