Friday 8 June

Sorry, this episode is no longer available to watch on Demand 5.

Find out why

Part 1: Hellos & Menu

Parts 2 & 3: Are The Olympics Being Sold On Sex?
For our first phone I want to know if you think the summer Olympics are being sold on sex. We worry about the sexualisation of kids but then serve up countless images of their athletic heroes in the buff. What kind of message does that send out?

We’ll take plenty of your calls on that before Simon leads us through the rest of the day’s headlines.

Part 4: Today’s Papers

Part 5: Euro Race Taunts: Should Players Walk?
After that: should players walk off the pitch if subjected to racial taunts at the Euros? If they go without the ref’s permission they’ll get yellow carded. But we reckon if players wait for the ref to order them off, which is what they’re supposed to do, they could be abused by the crowd for as long as 30 minutes before decisive action is taken. So what do you say?

Part 6: Brass And Class
For our final phone-in of the week, we’re discussing brass and class - if you’ve got it should you flaunt it and be flash with your cash? Are working class folk who make it rich more likely to be showy? That’s for you to say.

Part 7: Talking Telly With Kevin O’sullivan
And finally: we'll be talking telly with Sunday Mirror critic Kevin O’Sullivan.

I also agree with Katina Barber & Matthew, the panel missed the point. If the panel are right, the Olimpics should also advertised the Paralympic athletes. Like the Japanese athlete Maya Nakanishi with her Fundraising calender, good for her :)

It's so sad that all the headlines in the UK papers and news talk only about racism and not football! Polish are not racists and never were. Racism is a problem in the UK and not Poland. Stop listening to the cheap propaganda and start enjoying the games like the rest of Europe is!

I agree with Matthew about the olympics. I used to love watching it but these days it's all about money and commercialism. It's not an excuse members of the panel saying that it's how things are these days - it doesn't have to be like that unless we allow it.

I think they should give a goal/penalty to the players team that is getting abused. Surely that will hopefully put an end to it.

Don't be daft mate, "Sexualized" images shows the groin and breasts, these show neither. The real crime is that adults are good at putting their own dirty thoughts onto a subject under the pretence of protecting the child. THE CHILD DOES NOT HAVE A SEXUALY PERVERTED MIND.

No one ever in Poland was killed because of race. In Britain ... hmmm :((( Should we boycott 2012 Olympics?

We must be very careful how we handle, remember a member of the England squad is on alleged racist charge. Why are we only saying walking off for so called fans racism, what about player to player racism, should the players walk off then.

Euro Race Taunts: Should Players Walk? -- They loose anyway. Why not English racists accuse others of racism. One more excuse!

I agree with Matthew. Why cannot children be encouraged to exercise without having to see naked images or sexualised images of athletes? Parents can't monitor everything their children see, when everywhere you turn there are these images. I do not believe that people with a true interest in sport look at the athletes in trunks or skimpy outfits and think about their bodies, whereas the people who do are not actually interested in sport at all.
