Find out why

Part 1: Hellos & Menu

Parts 2 & 3: Have Crb Checks Had Their Day?
First up for discussion are the infamous CRB checks. Have they had their day? Anyone who works with children or vulnerable adults has to have one, resulting in 4m checks per year. Nick Clegg says the system creates an atmosphere of suspicion and distrust between adults and children. And they create a false sense of security as kids are protected from perverts who haven’t got a record. So is time to wind the system down a bit?

We’ll take plenty of calls on that before it’s over to Kieron for the rest of the day’s headlines.

Part 4: Today’s Papers

Part 5: Why Are Brits Such Prudes In The Nude?
After that: Following on from yesterday’s naked rambler a story, I want to find out why we brits are such prudes when it comes to public nudity? Or maybe I should be asking why some of us are so determined to flaunt our wobbly bits in public when 99.9 per cent of brits prefer to wear clothes when they go out. Are these militant nudists a bit dodgy? Pick up the phone and have your say.

Part 6: Creepy Collectors
Talking of dodgy people, for our last phone in of the week we’re going to get your thoughts on obsessive collectors. Is there something a bit odd about people like this chap who has collected every number one single since 1952. Are men more likely to obsessively collect stuff than women?

Part 7: Talking Telly With Kevin O’sullivan
And finally: We’ll be talking telly with a man who struggles to recollect anything at all, it’s Sunday Mirror TV critic Kevin O’Sullivan. REVIEWS: Big Fat Gypsy Weddings, Emmerdale, A Dad is Born; PREVIEWS: last ever Hustle, Homeland, The Body Squad.

The current system is overused and far too time consuming. With the use of accurate databases, easily accessible, this should be an easy process. Plus the parameters people get refused for are far too over sensitive for the job in question. Set sensible parameters, easily renewable and cheaper, with one crb check valid wherever you go.

I AM A single parent i have to leave my twins in day care remeber last years birmingham or the lady that distirbubuted photos over face book . And only having one criminal check is dangerous every pedo has a first . May be one every year and reduce the price. I speak with the point of view of of a adult who child hood was distroyed and has taken me thirty years to come to terms if anything could stop this happening to my children ,who has to leave twin 4yr at a day center as a single working parent , i remember birmingham and the lady who took photos and put them on the net , or even those two little girls who were taken by the caretaker of their school . How much is a child safety worth .But i agree the fee needs to be reduced to get a crb and i think one a year should be enough . But then again as i have said ever pedo has a first and no crb check will see that .

CRB check The Agencies are milking it very well and are charging £45-£50. I am a qualified Locum social worker and if I register with 5 different agencies then I have to pay 45 X 5 which is a lot of money. I think one is enough for where ever you go or work.

CRB checks are useless. Most abuse to children is done by people they know. That means we will have to CRB all families.
