Find out why

Part 1: Hellos & Menu

Parts 2 & 3: Are Fizzy Drinks Evil?
First up: Are fizzy drinks evil as a leading scientist claims? This expert claims just two cans of sugary pop a week are enough to screw up your metabolism, your body starts burning the sugar not fat and consequently you start to pile on the pounds. So are fizzy drinks evil and if they are, what kind of parent would let their sprogs drink them?

After taking plenty of calls on that it’s over to Kerry for the rest of today’s headlines.

Part 4: Today’s Papers

Part 5: 15 Too Young To Party Home Alone?
After that: Is 15 too young to party home alone without adult supervision? That’s what the heartbroken mother of one girl said after her daughter died of an ecstasy overdose at an all night party. She’d been told adults would be there to keep an eye on things but they weren’t. A tragedy, for sure, but are such situations avoidable? At some point you’ve got to let teens do whatever it is their urges tell them to do? If not 15 then when?

Part 6: How Much Would You Pay For A Pint?
Moving on: How much would you be prepared to pay for a pint of milk? The average cost right now is about 49 pence. After supermarkets and processors take their cut the farmer barely has enough to pay his bills, many are going out of business. So is it time for consumers to come to the rescue? How much more would you pay for a pint of milk? 60p anyone?

Part 7: Arise Sir Wiggo!
And finally: Does Bradley Wiggins deserve a knighthood for his astonishing achievements on two wheels? The first Brit ever to win the tour de France followed by another Olympic gold yesterday. Is there a more deserving candidate?

If Kirsty's announcement regarding trying out for a place at any future olympics in Tae-Kwon-do is sincere, I wish you all the very best. Good luck. Eric/Matt, great show top guys.

My hubby and I took a 2 year sabbatical and decided to ride our bicycles to far flung places. Even in the wilds of Bolivia where for a lot of the time we couldn't buy decent food we could always buy fizzy drinks. Coca Cola is everywhere, even now in India when 25 years ago we cycled there they weren't allowed, so we drank the Indian equivalent Thums Up! Any attempt to reduce the profits of these giants will be met with even bigger campaigns by them. The only way is to re-educate and for people not to consume. Good luck with that campaign!
