Many acts have been seen in which performers free themselves from the constrains of handcuffs, strait jackets or ropes while being suspended in, above or under a tank of water, fire or ice. Are today’s big show-stopping events, such as making the Statue of Liberty disappear, any more spectacular than playing Find the Lady with a skilled card sharp? Channel 5 takes a look at the tricks that still maintain the magic.

Coldplay - Sparks is the tune,... The program was excellent, and magic is whatever you perceive it to be,. astounding, exciting, dumbfounding, incredible,.. at all levels, it is skillfull, I couldn't choose the best ever trick, all deserved equal merit..

That's what magic tricks really are - expert 'misdirection' & 'sleight of hand' (note the correct spelling) equals 'entertainment'. Does anybody actually believe that they actually used 'magic' and caught the bullets in their teeth ? Anyone can be an armchair critic and self-styled expert about anything whatsoever . Just enjoy the array of talented people .

Penn & Teller wouldn't have been my No.1 - although it appeared to be dangerous there was obviously 'slight of hand'. However it was thoroughly enjoyable programme to watch.

Ignore 'Paul' aka a troller / flamer - if he truly believes Penn & Teller, Paul Daniels etc. are not the greatest magicians of our time then they obviously have no taste or common sense whatsoever!!!! They’d probably prefer to watch reality shows or other such garbage instead - saddo lol P.S. if you like magic then make sure you also watch Christopher Nolan’s The Prestige (2006) and the eight episodes of Penn & Teller: Fool Us. Happy new year!! :O)
