V-Team makeover winner: Kaz Petch

When 36-year-old Caroline Petch from Burnham on Sea in Somerset found out she was the winner for Very.co.uk's makeover this month it came as a complete surprise.

Secretly nominated by her mum and her son Thomas, 11, it took a while for the news of her win to sink in. Kaz admitted that with three growing boys look after, she doesn't usually get a chance to splash out too much on herself. And she struggles to dress up for an evening out. So it was a thrill to win.

The V-Team's challenge was to give Kaz a day-to-night makeover.

Inspired by the red coat Kaz arrived in, V-Team Fashion Expert Kirsty chose to go for a colour-blocking look, which involves putting three or more strong colours together. For Kaz she selected a vibrant red pencil skirt and a purple silk t-shirt.

For her daytime look, Kirsty added a black waist-cinching belt to accentuate Kaz's curves, and a black handbag and tights. To transform the outfit into one for an evening out, Kirsty updated the accessories, introducing metallic shoes, clutch, jewellery as well as replacing the belt.

The V-Team beauty expert gave Kaz a simple foundation base and added definition to her eyebrows for a professional look for the day. For the evening the team added a daring red lipstick, created sultry smoky eyes and finished the look with lashes of mascara.

And with the £1,000 as part of the makeover prize she can now treat herself and try out all the beauty tricks she's learnt.
