    They may be fitted with winter tyres but they don't seem to be very efficient. Surely the Highland operators should have snow chains or snow socks to provide better grip

    Seems crazy that they don't have snow chains on board. I even carry a set in my car during the winter! Check out Ice road truckers councils.
