The truckers must haul four, 25-ton pre-fabricated building sections for a new medical centre from Alice Springs to the Aborigine community of Kiwirrkurra, 500 miles west.
why do we have to wait till after mondays repeat .for it to appear on demand 5. why not repeat it on sunday when we can all watch it. grrrrr i hate waiting for things :)
This programme is right up my street- would just like to say I think its all about how fast we can do things and its all a race! I work for a complany of about 75 men, and am probably one of the if not the best, and I am proud of this, this christmas I had to give a speach in front of directors and managers as I collected an award and a cheque for 4.000 for providing speedy deliveries accross England and Germany, this was not achieved by spending time securing loads, I just know how to do my job quickly and efficiently. I work very closely within the given legal limits. I drove in a convoy of five trucks to Germany last year and arrived at the depot about 5 hours before the others, and they are bloody good drivers!! So saying our job is not a race is very questionable I've known many 'slowies' getting sacked for taking too long in bad weather and stopping to check loads etc. My advive to 'truck wannabes', as someone disrespectfully said earlier on, is to get the test done and once you've started get used to doing the job as quickly as possible, otherwise you won't be a trucker for long! Happy trucking folks.
Bloody rippa of a show! would like to say though I am a trucker and probably one of the best from a firm of about 76 truckers. The reason I'm one of the best is because I get the loads secured very quickly and work very close to all the limits set out. Not sure which companies some of you are working for but in my vast experience non of my bosses look upon 'sloweys' favorably. Its- get them loaded and get the goods to the companies as quickly as possible!
kelly it a tv programme .if they film it like real life it would be boring . and iam sure the kids watching it have common sense and know not to race in real life and if not they will learn this in later life when training to be truck drivers
Really enjoying this programme, and defo agree with goose, ITS A TV PROGRAMME. kelly u do have very valid points.
i would love to be on the show , for the fun, but the money sounds good too.....that would b a bonus.....
keep on trucking boyz .
Agree with kelly. The format of the show was also poorly thought out since a poor driver who is paired with a better driver could effectivley result in the elimination of the better driver. Also the use of the contest when transporting such a vital facility (pre-fab med centre) under race conditions was inappropriate.
The highest priority should have been to deliver the cargo without any damage at all.
this aint the real world lads its a tv program. both kelly and matt have valed points. more to the point how do you get the chance to get these jobs and what actually makes a good trucker ive been on the road for 15 years and driven all over europe with differant loads i love my job but my wife hates it
yes matt, they wouldn't make a show with normal trucking, but i do have to agree with kelly, the younger kids/wanabe truckers as he or she puts it will more than likely get the impression that trucking is just a race.
i'm sorry but i do agree with everything that kelly has said. Kelly is making a very valid point i think.
.These program makers are making a mockery of the people who drive trucks/lorries for a living, 1st off trying to make out everything is a race against time,we all know there is drivers hours-working time limits, but to make out that we have to race each other to complete our daily work is total and utter bollocks!!!!! the program makers are doing this in ice road and deadliest roads and other truck shows whY???? we as proffesional drivers have only one goal thats to deliver the load safely and securely,if we have time limits then we will always do our best to be there on time, but not by doing daft stuff like these show producers suggest, and if we can't make it in time then it will be there when it's there!!!SAFETY SHOULD ALWAYS COME FIRST.
2nd you even made out it was a race to chain down the load, why?? when securing a load it is definitely not a race,it is though something that has to be done right and that is the way it should be portrayed in these programs, you have to remember alot of the viewers will be young kids/ wanabe truckers.
not as exciting as hoped! program bit borin as so many truckin shows have been on. need to put a break between them. still gonna watch to end and see who wins!!!
Superb trucking show, I also love it, especially auatralian road trains, I would love to be in the drivers shoes tackling what they have to conqerour. I certainly wouldn't do it for the money, just to be out there would be pleasing enough. By the way , happy new year all.

Only plays to the first ad break, then i can't report the issue as the error box is behind the viewing window. Very dissappointing
