Sian Williams

Sian is an award-winning journalist who’s worked in broadcast news for more than thirty years – as a reporter, producer and anchor of some of television and radio’s biggest shows.

For more than a decade, she made current affairs programmes for Radio 4, then became the BBC’s Special Correspondent, before turning to presenting, first on the launch of the BBC News Channel and then on all the main news bulletins, before spending eleven years as host of BBC Breakfast.

She’s presented from key national events, from the Olympics, to the Royal Wedding, to General Elections.

Sian joined Channel 5 as the main anchor of 5 News at 5 in January 2016.

Outside news, she’s a trained trauma assessor, with an MSc in Psychology and has written a book about recovering after adversity, called ‘Rise: Surviving and Thriving After Trauma.’

Sian has five children and tries to run and do yoga but often fails to do either.
